Personalized care and attention

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Rebekah! I have 20+ yrs of personal and professional experience caring for animals in a home, farm, and shelter environment. I've lived with dogs my entire life. I currently have four rescue pets: 2 dogs (one of whom has special needs), a blind tripod cat, and a rabbit. I've been pet-sitting for my neighbors and family ever since I was young. I currently volunteer and foster for a couple local rescues/shelters. While pursuing my career in animal welfare, I worked at an animal shelter for a few years, where I developed the skills necessary for understanding an animal's body language, medication administration, and working with various animal behaviors of every age and size, puppy to senior, trained and untrained. I have a flexible work schedule and am available to care for your dog most weekdays during a time between late morning and early evening. I am open to caring for dogs, cats, or other small animals if desired. I only walk one client's dog(s) at a time. This allows me to keep one-on-one attention with the dog I am walking. During my visits/walks, I follow all instructions/requests from the owner and will keep your dog leashed at all times on walks. I use positive reinforcement and fear-free handling/approach techniques with all the animals I care for.

Rebekah was excellent! She went above and beyond while taking care of our cat. We are so happy to have found someone as thorough, reliable, and trustworthy as Rebekah. Thank you, Rebekah!

Bekah has taken care of our two dogs and is awesome! They lover her! She is the only one that has been been able to walk both of our dogs at the same time. She is very caring, an expert at dog behavior and observant about their health. She knows dogs and can make suggestions about training and daily routines. We definitely recommend her!

Rebekah is by far the best!!! She has been walking/playing/letting my dog out, for a year now, and I do not know what I would do without her. First and foremost she is reliable and honest. However my favorite part about her is how much she cares. Rebekah simply loves animals, and even more than that she loves when animals are happy and thriving. She has plenty of experience working with all sorts of animals, and her patience and compassion is second to none! My dog is a 5 year old pit/lab mix named Roe who particularly has leash/dog reactivity issues. Rebekah took the time to meet with me prior to any walk, to get to know roe, and exactly how she walks/ interacts, the commands I used, and how we handle certain situations. Her patience and consistency to my training routine has brought great success to Roe! She took the time to understand my dog, and to understand certain situations that Roe would not do well in. She respects my limits but more importantly Roe's limits as well. Besides that she sends daily pictures of what her and Roe were up to that day, whether it be what the played with inside, or the butterflies they saw on their walk! I am updated as soon as she leaves roe, and it reassures me someone has taken her out and she is safe! Roe loves seeing Rebekah everyday, and I am just as thrilled knowing that she is spending time with her as well : )

Information Rebekah W. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs (e.g. disabilities, previous injuries, medications, diet restrictions, allergies, etc.) or behavioral challenges (e.g. fears, sensitivities, triggers, jumping, reactivity to other dogs, resource guarding, etc.) that I should know about ahead of time. If your dog has a favorite place to walk (e.g. certain park or swimming spot). If your dog/puppy is undergoing obedience training or a behavior modification program (I will do my best to maintain your routine to provide consistency).

A typical day

Physical and mental stimulation are two of the most important parts of a dog's daily routine! I incorporate enrichment and socialization into all my visits to promote a calmer pet-sitting stay and to help reduce your dog's anxiety while you are away from home. E.g. checking out smells in the area, fetch, squeaky toys, sunbathing on the deck, nature trail walks, puzzle games, or just sitting quietly on the floor for a calm petting session (or maybe even reading a book to your pup!).
