Hi! I am a recent graduate currently living in Galewood with my two cats, Tommy and Urchin. I have currently been pet-sitting and dog walking for neighbors and friends. This is a passion--not work, so why not go full time into dog-walking? From puppies to older dogs, my speciality is really responding to the personality and needs of each animal. As a pet owner myself, if you are here I understand your pets are family and will fully respect your requests while they are in my care. Beyond having cats and dogs my entire life, in the past I have volunteered at the Animal Care League in Oak Park, and am a first-call for friends and family for animal behavioral advice as well as care.

Rebekah was excellent in every respect.
I have known Rebekah for over ten years and in that time she has always proved to be a loyal caregiver to all of the animals that she comes in contact with. I know of several other people that she has given her time to when needed to take over the responsibilities of caring for their pets when they are gone for a period of time or when they were unable to do it themselves. She has a special knack for knowing what each individual pet likes and responds to, to make the time she spends with them the most enjoyable for each of them. I would recommend Rebekah to anyone who needs a trusted person to take over and manage the daily routine of their precious furry friends.
Rebekah loves animals! Rebekah has cared for my aging pooch, Buddy, for a few years now. In my observation of Rebekah with my Buddy, I've seen her support him to calm his anxiety so that he could feel comfortable going down stairs as well as when one of my cats tries to bully him. Bekah has no problem getting down to Buddy's eye level and talking with him and being silly with him. I highly recommend her to be your pet's sitter.

When we meet I will ask you some general nature of your dog--whether he's the type to enjoy a long walk on the leash or if it is just for a potty break and prefers to play in the dog park or yard, if he is energetic or tires out quick. I might ask about favorite toys, anything you would like me to watch out for in his behavior, and of course any medical issues, fears, and of course his typical behavior around other animals.
A typical day
When I pet sit, I always talk to each individual animal by name. I greet him, get on the floor and get acquainted as needed before going outside. Especially when the animal is experiencing even temporary separation from his owner, he may feel anxiety or stress. I cannot replace you, but we can begin to bond and build trust. We can hang out and have some fun with floor and yard activities, such as playing with his favorite toys, or excursions outside to wear off some extra energy and explore. When I am staying with your dog, I will be with him and speaking to him all the time and give him the attention he needs in your absence.
