A Loving Home for Your Pup!
Pet care experience
Proud owner of Otis the Pug (who crossed the rainbow bridge in 2016) and Mark the pitbull, both rescues and foster fails. When I have to travel, I've encountered the feeling of "what do I do about Otis/Mark"? Who is responsible enough, caring enough, good enough to watch him? I have visited many kennels and doggie day cares, and never found them to be quite right for my sweet guy. Being able to find someone who could come take care of my boy in my home, someone he liked, and someone trustworthy, was what we ultimately needed. I know how hard it can be to leave your pet alone, or to wonder if they are OK in our absence. I believe this is what makes me a great sitter for your pet. I treat yours like I treat my own and that means lots of one-on-one time, play time, and massages (I hold a license as a certified massage therapist). I am able to deal with issues such as seizures, arthritis, blindness, deafness, mobility problems, incontinence, and more. I take pleasure in emailing you daily updates, and photos/video, so you can feel secure about your time away from your pet. Before I met Otis, I had no idea how attached a person could get to an animal. How special they really are, or why it could be hard to leave them. I even made fun of those "crazy pug owners" who obsessed over their dogs, took them everywhere and dressed them up on Halloween. But, now I'm happy to say I've become one of those pet owners, and I totally "get it". I really believe that our furry friends are not just our pets, but rather significant members of our family, and I'd love to be able to care for yours like he/she is one of mine.

Why I love dog sitting I've always loved animals, but unfortunately, growing up as a kid I was never allowed to have one. In my 30's I decided I wanted to be a dog owner. I started off by volunteering for a local rescue group, where I fostered animals as we searched for their new forever homes. As a result, I got to experience a lot of different types of personalities, ages, and health issues. I eventually ended up adopting one of my foster pups, and absolutely love him to pieces.

Information Rebecca W. would like to know about your pet
I don't have any preference for breed. All dog sitting requires an initial in-person visit and walk, so that I can assess the dog's temperament and disposition. PLEASE NOTE: I require that all dogs have the following: - recent health vaccinations/verifiable paperwork required - in good health (i.e. bathed, groomed, no infections, etc) - registered and micro-chipped - completion of basic obedience training - ability to follow basic commands (sit, stay, come, responding to their name) - potty trained/house trained - no behavioral or stress related issues (excessive barking/whining, digging, chewing, marking, licking, biting, growling, snarling, scratching, hyperactivity, etc) - non-aggressive towards other dogs - ability to walk well on leash
A typical day
Time I'll spend with your dog Daytime visits/walks are $35 - $60 each. Overnights are 7pm - 7am and are $125 at your home, or $100 at mine. Holidays Rates & Fees for Additional Pets: please inquire. Extra house-sitting services I'm happy to help out by bringing in the mail/paper, watering plants, turning on/off lights, and signing for packages. Just ask!
