Hello! I live on a homestead in Marquette Township with farm animals (chickens, cows, ducks, sheep, dogs, and cats) in a cabin with my husband, large-and-in-charge cat Tesla, and our new puppy Atlas! I'm an ex-musher who just moved back to the UP from living in the Bay Area, CA for a few years and I want to spend some quality time caring for your pets! Our new puppy is a delightful ball of energy! He was born late July 2020 and is a Scotch Collie (look up "Old Time Scotch Collie Association"), 3/4 Rough Collie and 1/4 English Shepherd. We are intensively training him right now to behave appropriately around the farm, and not to be carsick. So far he has blown us away with how smart and wonderful he is! Our cat, Tesla, is (we believe) a Maine Coon mix from Munising. She is very calm around dogs, will cling to your shoulders as you walk around the house, and loves curling up on a bit of sheepskin in front of the fire. She is, as we say pretty much every day, the best cat in the world. With experience at three different mushing kennels, two in New England and one in Sweden, I’m used to high-maintenance, high-energy dogs in large numbers. Though I’ve worked with Alaskan & Siberian huskies, I respect each dog for being his or herself. I live on land adjacent to state hiking land, and so have access to excellent walking trails near my home. I'd love to take your dog on a drive so we can hike along the lake, or otherwise stick around your home and walk in your neighborhood. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
