Pet Caretaking Professional

Pet care experience

Hi there! Thank you so much considering me as your Rover sitter! Please see below for FAQs about my services. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out. I am looking forward to caring for your pets! *Special note for long-term Chicago clients: I recently moved to DuPage County, but I would love to continue the pet sitting relationship we have built over the years! Whenever you need a sitter for your pets, I will be more than happy to care for them again! “What is your experience in caring for pets?” - I have worked in the pet caretaking field for 16 years in various settings and areas of the United States, and am also a lifelong pet owner myself! My extensive experience and knowledge working with animals allows me to go above and beyond in when caring for your pet. Most of my professional experience has been in animal shelters and rescues, and I have also worked at pet boarding facilities and daycares, veterinary hospitals and rehabilitation centers, in the social work field specializing in animal-assisted therapy and emotional support animals, and also volunteered helping court case dogs. Some of my further qualifications include that I have been certified in dog obedience instruction, consistently maintained training certification in pet CPR and first aid, and am certified in Fear-Free handling. I have worked with many common species of domesticated animals and have seen all types of medical, behavioral, and other special needs pets may have. I am able to administer medications, well-trained in recognizing behavior signals, and knowledgeable regarding breed specificities. I see pets as part of our families, and I will always make sure to treat your pets just as I treat my own! “What kinds of pets will you care for?” - Any and all! Rover currently only lists options for cats and dogs, but I have also had Rover bookings for rabbits, ferrets, lizards, a tortoise, fish, parrots, and a tarantula! I have knowledge and experience with various domestic pets so if you have scaly, feathery, or any other critters at home who you are looking for a caretaker for, please let me know!

Rebecca is such a sweet, caring, wonderful cat sitter! My cat is very skittish and shy, but Rebecca has put in the time and effort to befriend her and now my cat loves coming out for treats, pets and playtime with her during her visits (which is a miracle!) Rebecca is obviously very well experienced with animals and I feel very confident when my cat's care is in her hands. She also sends the cutest photos from her visits!

“What services do you provide?” - Currently I offer drop-ins (daily, multiple times a day), and dog walks. “What is included in a booking, and are there any additional fees for extra duties?” - My fees include essential care provided to your pet during my visit per your instructions. This includes: - [ ] Food preparation and feeding - [ ] Refilling water bowls/fountains - [ ] Cleaning pets’ dishes - [ ] Light clean-up around pets’ areas (sweeping dry food crumbs and litter, wiping wet food messes and water spills) - [ ] For cats - cleaning litter boxes, For dogs - owners’ preference of supervised potty breaks in fenced-in yard (including poop clean-up) or walks - [ ] Playtime! - [ ] Lots of pets, scratches, belly rubs (only if enjoyed!), socialization, and love! - [ ] Brushing and nail trim (if requested by owner) - [ ] Cleaning-up any vomit or indoor potty accidents if-needed - [ ] Medication administration if-applicable - [ ] Bringing in mail and packages - [ ] Watering indoor and outdoor plants - [ ] Taking out the trash and recycling if full (or stinky!) - [ ] Any other basic, simple duties you may request at my discretion! I like to leave your home as clean or cleaner than when I arrived so if you are returning from a trip you can just come home to relax and spend time with your pet! I believe in respecting your home as soon as I enter, and (of course!) respecting your wishes for your pet! Just-in-case there is a medical emergency during our visit, please be sure to inform me of their regular veterinarian and your preferred emergency veterinarian, and if you are able to leave a form of payment on file with the vet this will be very helpful! “Do you charge for Meet and Greets?” - I do not! Every potential client receives one complementary Meet and Greet at no cost to you. We schedule the Meet and Greet at your home prior to confirming booking to ensure that we go over all of your pets’ care instructions and so you can be comfortable knowing who will be caring for your pet! I also do not charge for any key pick-ups or drop-offs if this is unable to happen at the Meet and Greet or upon my last visit, but if you are able to have keys ready that is great! “Do you offer any discounts?” - Aside from the discounts listed under “Rates” for multiple pets, longer drop-ins, and longer bookings, a unique unlisted discount I offer is for foster pets as a, “thank you” for helping them find their forever home! Please let me know if the pet you are booking care for is a foster so I can apply the discount!
