I've always had a dog in my home, ever since I was born. That being said, I've been around dogs for over 20 years! I worked at a doggy daycare and training facility in my hometown part time for a year before I went to college, where I worked with dogs of all sizes and ages. Some of the therapy dogs at this facility were taken to a senior home to interact with the residents, and I was a member of that team, as well. I also had the unique experience to care for a deaf boxer during my time at the doggie daycare. When I moved away from home, a neighbor asked me to help her administer ear drops to her aging dog, and I was more than happy to assist! I have also shadowed at veterinary clinics for two summers, and was able to assist in some cases, where they needed an extra set of hands. I have administered several shots and medications to dogs of all ages, including insulin shots. I am highly allergic to cats, however 😢.
