Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm and have been caring for dogs and cats all my life. Many different breeds, ages and sizes. I have been living with dogs and a cat, in the city now for the past 15+ years and I know walking dogs is a very important part of their day and I also know that it isn’t easy to fit that in when working full time. I am a stay at home housewife with dog and cat experience who can help your dog or cat get the exercise and companionship they want and need. I currently have a 1 year old Frenchton that I have potty trained, taught to walk on a leash and are currently working on socializing (now that Covid restrictions are letting up). I also have a 12 year old Australian Shepard-Boxer mix (we think) that my husband and I rescued in 2011. We aren’t completely sure of her age or breed as she was found abandoned. She is experiencing some health issues as part of her advanced age but we administer her meds daily and do what we can to make her as comfortable as possible.

Are there any behavioral issues to be aware of. I will need to know any preferred routes to avoid in your neighborhood or your dogs walking habits. I.e how do they act when meeting other dogs, bikes, kids. What commands you use when walking. Does your dog or cat need to be administered any meds? What sort of positive reinforcement do you use? Praise? Treats? Both? And whether they have any allergies.
A typical day
I will walk your dog in your neighborhood where they are comfortable and do any of your dog or cats favorite activities. I will be sure to bring along doggy bags and not leave any special surprises behind on our walks. Throwing the ball in the back yard is one of my young dogs favorite pastimes. My older dog just prefers to sit by you and be petted and loved.

Availability
I am an empty nest, stay at home housewife. My mornings are busy but my afternoon and evening schedule is very flexible. I am available most any afternoon or evening.
