**Currently only offering catsitting, unless you are a repeat client with a dog!** Hi, I'm Ray, my pronouns are they/them, and I’ve been a Rover sitter since October 2018. As a young person, I was responsible for my family’s cat and briefly worked for a dog daycare. These days, I often petsit for friends outside of Rover and help train and play with my partner’s dogs. I’m an especially big fan of cats and have befriended just about every single one I’ve met in my neighborhood! I’m a writer who works from home, so Rover is a good fit for my flexible schedule. I’m also a plant parent and would be happy to take care of your houseplants and/or garden while you’re gone! Animal behavior and care is an interest of mine and I'm especially skilled at drawing out cats who are normally timid with strangers; I'm patient and willing to put in the time to make them comfortable. I love winning over shy cats! I also enjoy maintaining training and adjusting behavior through positive reinforcement with dogs. If you have things you’re working on with your pup, let me know and I’ll be happy to maintain it while you’re gone! I also have experience with small animals such as hamsters and rabbits, and have spent some time around snakes and birds. I’m happy to care for your unusual pets…though I do draw the line at tarantulas, lol!
