Happy Campers 24/7 Care

Pet care experience

If the thought of leaving your best friend in a kennel while you vacation is enough to make you cancel your plans, welcome! You're our kind of people! We strive to make our home the next best thing to being home for your dog. We offer all the comforts our own dogs enjoy - full house privileges, plump furniture and beds, and most importantly, lots of love and attention. A stay at Happy Campers is a social event. They will run, play, hang-out, sleep with other dogs all day and night! Your dog will get to enjoy all their primal instincts of hanging with the pack! Dogs need physical exercise to assure their health and happiness. Physical activity and socialization help to create balanced dogs by taking away excess energy, boredom, frustration, and unwanted behavior. At Happy Campers your pet can run, play, explore, & relax with full run of the secured house yard and pool. All of a dog's needs are met and they couldn’t be happier and content! Dogs have all day fully supervised access to the back yard and swimming pool. They are free to come and go inside and out anytime to play, relax and more, taking full advantage of their Doggie Vacation time. Everyone here is 'spoiled' and we think that's the way it should be. Don’t worry, your dog will be closely monitored to assure the activity level is comfortable and joyous! Your dog will go home tired and you’ll get to enjoy your relaxed dog with all the day’s pent up energy released! Drop your dog off before work, going on a shopping or day trip, or just for the fun of it! If you have a “high energy” dog then without question, this is for you! These dogs especially need to be drained of all that excess energy, otherwise it may lead to unwanted behavior like chewing, destruction, and constant barking. Let us get rid of that pent-up energy for you! If you have a “puppy”, then great! Socialization is especially important for your pup! It is very important that puppies learn proper dog play/manners and the best teacher is other dogs. Adult dogs give subtle lessons that most of us never even know are happening, but your pup is learning. Dogs are amazing! If you have a “slower” dog, that’s great too! Slower or older dogs do great at Happy Campers too, they can take their time and explore without being bothered by other dogs! Last minute bookings are welcome and every effort made to accommodate the request. Leave your Pets for a few hours or few weeks in full confidence and without worry. We offer the most flexible Pick up and drop off times This is my full-time passion and happy to say my full-time job as well. I have a great split level open floor plan home with lots of dog pillows and space to run around crazy or enjoy a lazy day. I've been fostering and rescuing dogs for many years, allowing me to gain a great deal of experience with all types of dog personalities and those with special needs. For those that like to get out and stretch their legs or need to spend some excess energy there is great park/walking path less than a block from our house. Our neighborhood in Plano is very quiet and 90% of the neighbors are dog owners and lovers. They are top notch pet parents with well behaved and always leashed dogs. Our neighborhood is 50/50 retirees and young families. We have made the entire house extremely dog friendly with couches, pillows and beds to lounge on. Lot's of windows to let in the sun and let your dog enjoy the view. There is also plenty of rooms if your pups like to get away and chill out for a while. My ultimate goal is to provide outstanding care for your pet(s) by keeping their routines while staying here just as in your own home. We are trained and able to administer any medications sub, inter and oral. Provide extra care with dietary needs and any other quirks. We strive to treat your pet family the same way you treat them at your home routine, sleep eating schedule, training, and exercise. We use a detailed checklist that we keep on file that includes emergency contacts, vet info, etc. We've had almost every breed of dog in our home and all are welcome! All guests are closely supervised and separated at feeding time in a friendly and non-pressured environment to help avoid food aggression and food thieves. Each dog gets a bin or bag to them where we store their toys, leashes, food and any other personal belongings, each item is labeled with the family name as well. As you can see in the pictures, the dogs really enjoy the back yard and lower level living area in front of the fireplace on the floor, couch or pillows. They really get to enjoy themselves playing and of course the all-important naps anytime they like here. It's a true vacation for them. All dogs are always welcome to swim or stand in the pool to cool off. I always give them a good rinse and the best towel dry/doggie massage Per your contract with Rover, it is expected that you will have current vaccination status, all special instructions, vet info, emergency contacts, etc are up to date on your Rover online profile.. WHAT TO BRING: *Food and treats *Medicine in original containers with dispensing instructions. *Chew toys (Antlers or Kongs) that don’t pose a danger to your dog when unattended. WHAT NOT TO BRING *Bowls (ours are sanitized stainless steel). Please only bring a bowl if you have a special needs requirement. *Rawhide (choking risk). *Small stuffed animals or toys *Bedding of any kind This my full time life, we love letting our guests live their best life- a safe haven for the most fun dog days ever. Mutual trust at the start is the key, if either party feels like it is to be earned is making a terrible choice - be smart and honest- your doggie your diligence in the search is always necessary to find everything your dog and you want in a care giver- don’t settle until you do. Our guests are never alone, always supervised and each getting the individual care and love they all deserve and get lots of while here.

We have been using Ray for almost FIVE years! Since we moved to DFW area he was the first dog sitter we used and still use him to this day. We even moved out of the immediate area and we still drive over an hour to allow him to watch our 2 boys. Our boys Theo and Shiloh always love coming here! They are high energy, large breeds and don’t trust them with just anyone. We trust Ray with our long stay visits (we travel often), his communication is top notch when you ask for an update, and the doggos come home tired and always smell like a fresh bath! 10/10 highly reccomend!

Samwise had another great stay at Ray’s! Loved the picture updates of Samwise interacting with the Halloween decorations in the back yard 😂

A typical day

While we let the dogs be dogs, we keep very aware of their behaviors and watch for any changes. It is never a good to let a dog regress or learn a new habit so it is also a top priority to continue to provide a consistent routine and enforce the rules and commands that they follow at home. Our neighborhood is very quiet and set back from main roads. I do not allow guest dogs to be approached or approach dogs or people that we might cross paths for everybody's safety. We like to stay take our walks on a clean beautiful trail close to the house. On the weekends, we might play a little dance music and see which one of these crazy pup's wants to strut their stuff. It is always a fun time to wind down for the evening with a little exercise before bed and also helps them decide where they want to sleep / pass out for the night.
