Your Dog's Second Family

Pet care experience

My love and passion for animals came at a young age. My grandfather rescued strays, so I grew up around many dogs and cats. As a child, constantly being around all those animals was like Disneyland. As an adult, nothing makes me happier than being with my family and with my dogs. I decided to become a pet sitter to be happy at home and at work. I have been a pet sitter for about ten years, though I call myself a "pet nanny" not a "pet sitter." Much like a nanny cares for your children, I will care for your pets in the same way. I treat pets like they are my family. I am trustworthy, honest and extremely diligent. I go the extra mile to ensure that the pets in my care feel loved and safe. My main experience is with terriers and other small breeds. I also have experience with pit bulls. I owned a pit bull named Blaine, who was amazing. Now I like to pet sit or foster pit bulls because they have such a bad reputation. My professional dog experience is owning my own pet sitting business, Rockie's Pet Nanny Services. I will be your dog's second best friend, you (the owner) are their first. I ensure pet parents that their pets may be scared in a new environment but I will do everything possible to make sure their dog is made to feel at home. I treat the dogs that I take care for like they are my family. I not only pet sit your dog, I care and will love them. My active lifestyle will ensure that your pet gets plenty of walks and exercise. Your pet will always get lot of attention, they will never get bored around me. While my family is full of dog-lovers, I will be the sole caretaker of my guests. My husband has owned dogs his whole life and my daughter loves any dog she sees. She is in first grade and loves her brothers (our dogs) as much as I do. My dogs, Sammy Wammy, a rescue, is my oldest son. I also have a Yorkie named Coco Bean. Coco is the middle child and rules the school with his little man complex. My children are what makes me the happiest. I am a very active person. I love to take yoga, cycle, bootcamp and pilates. I cook and bake, but I'm a better cook than a baker. I like to make crafts and scrapbook. I also like to volunteer at my daughter's school for field trips or when needed to make crafts. I live in a community of Henderson, NV called Anthem. Anthem is the prettiest, cleanest, well-lit side of Las Vegas, NV. My home is a big beautiful two story house with lots of space to run and play. I have a medium size yard with high concrete walls, so no puppies can escape. My yard may not be big but you can see a dog park from my back yard. Anthem is also home to beautiful walking trails, parks, and hiking trails.

Raquel is awesome. She took excellent care of our English Bulldog Maho. We got regular updates and she was always quick to respond. Raquel put us at ease after our flight was delayed and arranged a late pickup. Highly recommend.

Raquel took such good care of our dog, JD. She is very friendly and yet concerned about the details of his care. She took him for walks and sent us regular photos with updates. She made JD part of her family. We are so lucky to have found Racquel and will use her again.

Raquel watched Bo for me a whole week while I went home for Thanksgiving. The environment made him right at home and well taken care of. The daily pictures I received playing and going on walks where amazing and I could see it in my little guys face the fun he was having. Thanks for taking such great care of Bo!!!!

A typical day

When I’m with your pupper I will make sure to follow his schedule. If it’s allowed, we’ll go on a walk in the morning and eat some breakfast. We will go outside for a hike through one of the many trails my community has to offer. After our walk, we’ll come home and relax. During that time I’ll text his person some pictures from our walk and tell them anything funny Andy did. My puppers will keep your furbaby company during the day. We’ll play ball or tag and I’ll take him out for lots of potty breaks. I live behind a small dog park, so there’s plenty of opportunity for afternoon fun. Then, time for dinner and relaxation with the family! If your pup isn’t to be crated for the night, he’s allowed to sleep with us in our bedroom or even on the bed if that’s allowed.
