They say the two most important days of your life are when you are born and the day you find out why. My why is caring for dogs, cats, and other animals and this is a full time career for me. I am a professional dog handler/walker andI have cared for and walked many of my own dogs for over 27 years. My real experience was gained from January 2014 to December 2020 walking every kind of dog imaginable at PAWS Chicago, the city's largest No Kill humane organization. At PAWS I was a level 3 dog handler caring for the most challenging dogs. I also participated with feeding, clicker training (Karen Pryor Certified), cleaning dog suites and basically doing everything I could to help. I was also entrusted to work with a few special needs dogs and provided needed physical therapy for their recovery. Over the 6 years I accumulated over 3,700 hours of volunteer experience in caring for and walking dogs of all levels, behaviors, and challenges. I also love to train dogs and only use positive reinforcement methods like Clicker Training. As a certified clicker trainer I love teaching dogs how to better interact with other dogs and people while also working on the basics. I am also familiar with various dog walking equipment. Receiving PAWS Volunteer of The Year award in 2016 was a heartfelt honor. ADOPTION COUNSELING Dog Adoption Counseling Cat Adoption Counseling At PAWS Chicago I most certainly provided more cat adoption counseling than dogs. DOG TRAINING I am level 3 certified Karen Pryor clicker trainer. I would volunteer to attend Tuesday and Thursday clicker training classes working with shelter dogs and teaching them good behaviors for when they found their forever homes. Only positive reinforcement methods of behavior modification were used. I am self employed with schedule flexibility and would love to help care for your beloved dog or cat. Hours are flexible but I prefer late morning to late afternoon. But, I'm also willing to make special trips at other times depending on the situation and location. I am happy to walk your dog or dogs, feed them, provide medication, clean messes, potty train, and more. I have also used crates and have experience crate training.
