Loving Pet Sitter At Your Service!
Pet care experience
My name is Randi and I am so excited to meet and spend time with your dog. I am a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder and I will graduate in December. Below I will explain why I want to provide quality care for your animal. I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. As a child, I constantly declared that I wanted to be a dog catcher so that I could bring all of the lonely dogs home and take care of them. I may not have become a dog catcher, but I did succeed at sneaking more than a few stray dogs into my grandparent's yard over the years. At seven years old I decided to make flyers for my very own dog walking business. My parents did not want to get a dog due to the huge responsibility. Starting my mini dog walking service at such a young age provided me with happiness and many loving connections with incredible dogs. Over the years I began planning a way to convince my parents to get me a dog. I printed out hundreds of dog photos and make notes with various statements such as "Look at those eyes," "how can you resist this face," "I will be the best dog mommy ever," "the pound closes at 7 p.m. on weekdays," etc. Months passed and my photo and note placements became more creative and I am sure more annoying. My plan began to work and my mom took me to the pound to look at adoptable dogs. I was so eager and ready to take on doggy motherhood that I created a document with a list of dog owner responsibilities. I signed and framed this document to demonstrate how determined I was. After years of praying for a dog, I became dog mom in 6th grade. I am now 22 and I can honestly say adopting my sweet baby girl is still one of the best days of my life. I ended up adopting a ten-month-old chihuahua terrier mix. When I came across the kennel she was in I was instantly drawn to her because she was in the furthest corner avoiding eye contact and shaking as the other dogs greeted me at the gate. All I wanted to do was hold her and help her feel safe. Looking through the gate I promised her that she would be going home with me. Once she was brought into the room I learned that she was beaten and used as pit bull bait in Oakland, California. That information was absolutely heartbreaking. I knew that adopting her would not be an easy road, but I have never had a doubt about the decision I made to bring her home. I rescued my second puppy on my 14th birthday. Sadly someone threw him away in a trash can when he was six weeks old. I am so thankful that he was found and that I became his dog mom. My point is that dogs deserve to be loved and receive quality care. No dog should be brutalized. I strive to provide the best life for my dogs and I promise to love and care for your dog as if he or she were my own. I am very patient and understanding of dogs various needs and capabilities.
