Ramon was fantastic! We were gone for almost 2 weeks and he stayed at the house to watch our dog and two cats. We came back to happy animals which is all that you can ask for!

We weren't satisfied with Ramon as our sitter and won't use him again. He house sat for us for 4 nights. During our meet and greet, he said he will send updates and pictures every day while we're away and we explained this was very important to us, as we have had a negative experience with lack of communication from a previous sitter. The first day we were away, he didn't send any pictures until I asked for them at 9pm. The second day, he didn't contact us until 5pm, but it wasn't about our animals. He asked if he could have friends over to play pool. We told him we wouldn't be comfortable with that and he said it was fine. He still hadn't sent any update about the animals so I asked for one and he did send pictures and a vague update. The third day, he didn't contact us at all and I contacted him at the end of the night (midnight) asking if everything was okay. He said he had been very busy that day with another job and *asked* if we wanted pictures. I told him yes and that we were disappointed with the lack of communication, especially when we specifically discussed expectations prior to our reservation. He apologized and said he would do a better job communicating. He gave one more update that day. The next day we were returning home and he sent a final update and some pictures. When we returned home, our home had been tidied (bed made, trash taken out, mail brought in), but our cats were without food (they free feed and only go through the two food bowls they have set out every couple days so he couldn't have fed them that morning or the day before) and our dogs didn't have any water (we use a very large refillable water bowl, so he let it become empty and didn't refill it because they don't go through that much water in a few hours-we generally only have to fill it every 4-5 days at the most). Our animals are alive and well and our house still stands, so that's why I gave 2 stars instead of 1, but I wouldn't recommend him as a sitter based on our experience.
