Pet care experience
I was born into a household with dogs and grew up with dogs, but got my own only 8 years ago and it has been the best experience of my life. I have watched my friends' dogs on a regular basis, to the extent that my home was called Auntie Raj's Doggie B&B for a while :) I'm supposedly the favorite aunt of all those doggies, who get snuggles and lap time and sleep in bed with me for the most part. I have been a foster dog mom to several dogs as well for a while and the most recent one ended up becoming my second dog just this year. Your fur baby would be cherished in my home and my dogs and I would be happy to watch him or her when you're away. I'd need to know your rules too though, so that I can follow them with your little one.

Woody had a great stay with Raj, who took so great care of him. Very attentive to everything, incl his elbow dysplasia. He loved playing with Raj's dog Joey, and snuggled in bed at night. Great communication. Would def recommend!
Raj is a lovely and trustworthy person who has a genuine love for animals. Her care is intuitive and my pup, Dublin absolutely adores her. She takes such great care of her own dog, Joey. Joey was a rescue who was in bad shape when she brought him home. In an effort to encourage him to eat she made a home-cooked blended food recipe so he would gain weight. It is a practice she continues to this day. That is love. That is devotion. I trust her completely with my pup, and you will too!
Raj is the biggest dog lover I have seen. She grew up with a lot of dogs and is very passionate about them! Raj is a very happy, loving person and has a big heart. She not only treats her own dog as a child, but all the visiting dogs too, always spoiling and playing with them. Raj is very particular about the dogs eating healthy and getting a lot of exercise. All her 4 legged babies seem to have a great time when they are with her!
The worst part of moving out of the West Village, was leaving Raj. I can still see her sometimes, but my dog is heartbroken that it isn't more often. I love dogs. But NO ONE loves dog's like this woman does. I taxi my dog to her when I am going away, instead of using my Brooklyn sitter, because she is his favorite person. You will never want someone else with your dog once you meet Raj.

Information Raj P. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences, but my dog Joey is small at 19 lbs, so I would not want to take on too big a dog that he doesn't know. I would also prefer not to take on aggressive dogs or those that are prone to resource guarding. Joey is very good about sharing his toys, so I'd want the visiting pups to be the same. I would also like to know if you have any issues with your dog being allowed on furniture and in bed because they're allowed everywhere in my home :)
A typical day
Walks on the Hudson river greenway and in the neighborhood. I take my dog and his visiting buddies wherever I go if I can take them - bank, drugstore, wandering around the neighborhood. I'll take your pup to the dog park only if you let me know it is ok and that he/she would enjoy it. At home we play fetch, I try and get the doggies to chase each other and play tug, we hang out on the sofa and in bed. I work from home, so the doggies usually lie around in the study when I'm at my desk.
