Pet care experience
I like to have meet-and-greets so that your dog or cat isn't so shy when I come to help out! Along with that, you get to meet me and know that I am an amazing, sort of funny (people say) person that just wants to love up on your dogs, or any animal! This is my full-time job, so you don't have to worry about long 8-10 shifts getting in the way of my time for your pets. They are my priority. I'm pretty thankful that I've grown up in rural Maine, I sort of got a hand for everything from your exotic reptiles to your farm animals, and then of course our favorite couch pets!

RJ was very professional and friendly in our pre visit. My dog is anxious and warmed up to her. I was reassured that my dog was doing well with pictures and follow up texts. After a couple of years of full-time companionship thanks to the pandemic, our beloved hound-dog, Aspen, was going to be left alone for several long days each week. We were so concerned, until we found Rae Jean! Aspen took to her immediately--always a good sign!--and the feelings certainly appear to be mutual! Rae Jean leaves us notes and pictures so we know they are having a good time together. I've also found Rae Jean to be flexible about schedules (adding days here and there, adapting when our plans change) and wonderfully responsive and communicative. She also lets us know well in advance when she has vacation plans, etc. We feel really lucky to have found Rae Jean!
Rae Jean loves animals more than anyone else I know. Whether it is walking a dog, playing with a cat, or collecting eggs from a chicken, she will be there and be happy. I highly recommend her for all your pet sitting needs.
RJ is wonderful with us and our pups. We feel very comfortable with RJ taking care of our pups and highly recommend her to everyone!

I have a fenced in yard and a nice back porch. I do have two dachshunds of my own, not aggressive and very easy to get along with. Depending on what your pet likes, they'll be sleeping right in bed with me. But if your pet prefers their space, I have two different living rooms where I can have a kennel for bedtime, nap time, whatever! I will make sure that your pet is comfortable.

The most important thing for me to know is whether or not you have an animal that is reactive. This is important because I want to make sure that I'm not making them uncomfortable. My entire goal is to make sure they stay comfortable during my entire visit with them. So please don't be nervous to let me know if you have a reactive dog because this is why I do meet and greets so that we can make sure we get along and can have a good time together.
A typical day
There are endless trails near where I live. My own dogs appreciate them and honestly so don't I! If your dog's not a big walker, that's okay. Having fun inside is possible too. I have plenty of sniffing mats and toys that I can bring along so that we can make sure no one is bored!
