We had a terrible experience using Rachelle to house sit while we were on vacation. Prior to leaving the communication was really poor, she did not respond to at least one message and mixed us up with other clients. The trouble really started once we left, we have a nest camera in our dog room and noticed her using our washer and dryer. I didn't mind it too much but would have appreciated her asking. The first day she was there a few hours and didn't take our dog out to fetch or get any exercise. The second day she showed up in the morning for about 20 minutes to feed our dog but did not return. We could see our dog at 5p.m. (she said she would be there around 3:30) howling and scratching our laundry room door. We messaged her asking if she was not coming back she responded saying she was sick and would be back soon. We saw on the nest camera she was only there for about 5 minutes and left. Our dog was distraught at this point and proceeded to howl. We messaged her again and asked if she was not going to spend any time with her today. Almost an hour and a half later we received a response that she would come by for 20 or 30 minutes. By that time we received a video clip from our neighbor of our dog howling because she was left alone for almost 11 hours by this time. The neighbor was concerned and offered to check on her. Thank goodness for our neighbor because we were about to drive home from our vacation to take care of her. We understand people get sick but the lack of communication and leaving our dog alone for 11 hours was unacceptable.

I would NOT reccomend Rachelle as a pet sitter. When we came home from our vacation, our apartment smelled like dog urine. We ended up finding 2-3 urine spots on our rug and carpet. Our dog has never had an accident in the home in the 5 years we’ve had her. We waited 6 days to leave a review so we could monitor our dog’s behavior to ensure it was not a medical issue. Since Rachelle has left, there have been no accidents. Also, our dog is now skiddish when we grab her leash, which was not an issue before. I cannot speculate as to what happened while we were gone, I can only attest to the smells and changes in our dog since we’ve returned.
