Pet care experience

I was raised in a home of dog fanatics. I have a picture of 2 week old me cuddled in my bed with 13 1-day old puppies my mom was fostering (along with their mom) for a local pet shelter. I've never not had dogs in my life in everyway. My professional career in dogs began when I was only 12 years old. I was volunteering with a dog breeder on weekends and during the summer I interned with my dog's veterinarians. Although I had plans to become a vet myself, it soon became obvious that my disability would prevent that. To help with my disability, my doctor's suggested a service dog. After much searching, I was partnered with a service dog organization who taught me a love of dog training. I've since started working as a professional dog trainer, helping clients with reactive behavior and basic obedience. My experience with reactive behavior allowed me the opportunity to help manage a multidog household and board new furry friends safely, with the ability to spot reactive concerns and address them before they escalate. This means your dog gets a bonus of puppy playdates during your time away without a huge risk to your pets' safety. Pet care might as well be my full-time job. This is all I do, all day, and I wouldn't have it any other way. While I'm happy to add in whatever schedule your pet requires, personally, this is my dogs' schedule: A full bath + grooming takes place every Friday. Every night we brush teeth and hair. We do 1-3 5-minute individual training sessions throughout the day. They get fed at the same times every day. They get an individual walk around the neighborhood right before bed. They sleep in individual dog beds or crates (depending on what your dog requires) during the night, but are allowed on my furniture during the day, when invited up. I use positive reinforcement to teach my dogs what needs to occur (giving praise and treats to get them to do something). I use the best quality care possible. I'm continually reading and studying canines and dog training to learn and provide even better care for your dogs. This is my full-time job. I spend all day caring for your pup. For over night care, they get checked on several times throughout the day, between check-ins with my other bookings. Our schedule depends on the day and your dog's specific needs and routine. Safety is my #1 concern. I have experience with all types of reactivity, which allows me the ability to recognize concerns before they ever develop. I use a gated system in my house to be able to separate dogs that don't mesh well without needing to resort to isolation in a kennel. I have a fully fenced in yard, but all dogs are kept supervised at all times, including in the yard.

I am so happy I found Rachell. She took great care of my dog over the holidays. My dog has separation anxiety and can be nervous around strangers & other dogs. Rachell made her feel comfortable and put me at ease knowing my doggy was enjoying herself. Rachell sent pictures of her playing with the other dogs which was great! Im so happy I’ve found someone I trust with my dog!

We’ve used Rachell twice now and my dog Archie absolutely loves staying there. He gets to make new friends and is looked after very well. I received updates everyday usually without asking. We never have to worry when sending Archie over.

Rachel was absolutely fantastic with looking after my cats over the winter holidays! With daily visits, updates, and pictures I felt so much better knowing they were well looked after while I was away. I can't recommend her highly enough!
