Hello! My name is Rachel, and I'm pretty new to the Monterey area. I've been taking care of animals of all shapes, types, and sizes since making this account 9 years ago. From cows, to guinea pigs, to praying mantises, dogs, frogs, cats, and even tapirs, I've provided love and care to every animal who I've encountered. As a young professional, I have not had the opportunity to adopt a furry friend myself yet (since moving away from my childhood pets), and am hoping to spend some quality time with the lovely animals of the Monterey Bay area. Trained as a firefighter and EMT, I am comfortable with any medical needs your pets may have and will treat them as my own. I have taken care of diabetic cats, pups needing specially curated diets, and am happy to provide any and all pet-related services you may be in need of. I live right near Fisherman's Wharf and Old Monterey, so I'm very close by to the tourist attractions if you're visiting from out of town and need a short-term place for your pets to stay while exploring.

Rachel was great. She took care of us last minute and made sure our dog had plenty of walks. We also received many picture updates while we were away. Would highly recommend.
Awesome! Rachel kept in contact w/ us by providing pictures, videos, and updated information through texts of our kittens. She was also accommodating when we needed to extend the kittens stay with her. When we picked our kittens up I wasn’t sure they would want to come home because looked like they felt so comfortable and loved in her care.
I think my dog believes he was at Disneyland when with Rachel. He’s sitting here, looking at me, thinking “why did you come home so soon? I was having so much fun.” Rachel was wonderful and we felt like Tozer was in great hands while we were away. We definitely recommend her services.
Rachel was wonderful and had great communication both before and during the day. She kept us up to date on Lexi’s adventures and sent plenty of updates and pictures along the way. This was our first time using Rover so we were a little unsure what to expect but couldn’t have been more happy with how things went. I would definitely recommend and use Rachel again when we are in Monterey and need a place for Lexi to go so we can enjoy a dog free Dinner or event.

I live in a pet friendly apartment right near El Estero, about a 3 minute walk from the dog park near the cemetery. Our location is great for pets who love beach walks, bike path adventures, or walks around the lake. We also have reliable transportation to make caring for your pets easy and are comfortable (with your permission of course) transporting pets to and from vet appointments, on hikes (if longer walks are needed), or even to Carmel Dog Beach :)

A typical day
Once I get to know a dog and become familiar with their owner's preferences, I love taking them to dog parks, dog beaches, and on the dog-friendly trails around the area. We are blessed to be located in such a great area which makes all of these options accessible.

Availability
I am currently working from home Thursdays and Fridays and am available to board pets or make drop ins on those week days, as well as weekends. My partner, Scott, is also a pet-lover and works from home throughout the entire week. I am eager and available to board pets for extended stays, or provide care from your home as well.
