Reliable, Stay-At-Home Dog Mom! :)

Pet care experience

I have always loved animals, and grew up on a farm- so I decided to become a pet sitter/dog walker 10 years ago, because I knew it would be a perfect and natural fit for me. I was so right- I love my job! Since I am a full-time sitter, I am able to be home with the dogs I care for all day…so no one is ever left alone for extended periods of time. I feel like this is an important part of the experience I am able to provide, and sets a stay with us apart from traditional boarding facilities. I know it’s hard to be away from your furry family members- and that it can be hard on them too…so I do absolutely everything I can to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved and at home so that you come back to happy “kids” :) You can also expect regular updates and photos throughout the stay so that you can see for yourself how much fun we’re having! I have three sweet pugs of my own who love playing “host/hostess” to all of our guests. They get along with everyone, and are happy to play or just lounge depending on what everyone else wants to do. Everybody gets as much outside or inside time as they want…there’s always a squirrel to chase, things to explore or a lap to snuggle in at our house! We have a spacious, securely fenced in back yard with tons of room to run and play. We keep comfy dog beds throughout our house, so theres always somewhere to relax…but in our home, dogs are family- so they’re also free to hang out on the couch with us if they want to. We’re a pretty laid back household…and really just want everyone to feel at home! I know it can be a hassle to drag beds/toys/crates/treats/etc. back and forth…so I try to offer a “full service” stay for my clients. I keep clean beds, treats, toys, leashes, bowls and anything else I think someone might need or want on hand at all times, so you don’t have to worry about a thing! You’re welcome to bring anything you feel might make their stay more comfortable, but it’s entirely up to you. All the treats I provide are natural and organic, but please let me know if there is anything specific you DON’T want your dog to have. I do ask that you please bring enough food for their visit, because I know that a sudden change in diet can upset their tummies…and we want everybody feeling great so that they have the best “doggie vacay” possible! I have extensive experience with dogs of all different ages and temperaments, and am happy and eager to accommodate any special needs yours might require. I am able to administer any medications they might need during their stay, as long as you provide written instructions for doing so. I take the trust my clients place in me very seriously, and you can be sure that I will love and take care of your baby like he or she is one of my own. All my clients tell me that when they return after their first visit, that their dogs start getting excited as soon as they pull onto my street- and pull them to my front door!!! That is the highest compliment someone can give me- and I am proud of the fact that most of my clients continue to trust me to watch their pets time and time again. I hope to build a similar relationship with you and your family, and can’t wait to meet you!

Rachel has watched Gaston several times now and he has had such an amazing stay each time. He loves exploring the backyard and hanging out with the other sweet pups. I’ll definitely continue to book with Rachel every chance i get!

Ponyo had waay more fun with Rachel than anywhere else we've boarded her. Their house is full of love, pugs, and doggie treats!

First time we used them, and it’s not just Rachael but Jessie, and their family (dogs included). Terrific people, great animal lovers, fantastic environment for our puppy. Can’t say enough great things about them and the experience.

Pete and Buckie had a good time with Rachel and her three pugs. They love being outside and her yard was a nice oasis for my nosy kids to sniff around in. I definitely will be using her in the near future.

Information Rachel T. would like to know about your pet

I always schedule meet and greets before booking a sit, so that we can make sure it's a good fit for everyone. The only requirements we have are that dogs be completely potty-trained, up-to-date on vaccines and non-aggressive. Our "daily" booking fee covers a 24 hour period. Extended stays are welcomed, but please know that there will be a half-day charge for late pick ups (up to 12 hours) that go beyond that, and stays extending beyond this 12-hour window will be considered an additional day.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We feel it's generally safest to keep dogs within our fenced-in back yard, and definitely make sure that they get plenty of exercise outdoors; however, we are able to provide daily walks if needed. Your dog's sleeping arrangement We want everyone to feel "at home", so I will try to keep your dog's sleeping arrangement as close as possible to what their used to. Time I'll spend with your dog I work from home, so your dog will receive lots of attention throughout the day, and will not be left unattended for extended periods of time.
