Veterinary Technician of 10+ years

Pet care experience

I've been in the animal medicine field for 10+ years as a receptionist, kennel assistant, and veterinary technician. I'm currently working full time at Banfield Pet Hospital. I worked at an animal hospital that boarded pets, as well as a personally owned boarding facility. I was able to see first hand how stressful it was on the animals when their environments got changed. Keeping a pet in their own home helps them relieve stress and make the process on their human companions having to leave a lot easier. When you have a reputable person with experience watching your pets you can relax while your out of town. I've had experience with dogs/cats/reptiles/birds/small animals/fish. Being a veterinary technician I have plenty of experience medicating pets and taking care of the ones that have other special needs. I also know how to handle any abnormal health concerns (diarrhea, vomiting, CPR, hymlich maneuver, etc) or home emergencies (leaks, power outage, flooding, etc) that might occur during my stay. While I'm staying at your home feel free to let me know of regular chores that need to be done around the home (bringing in mail/newspaper, watering plants, shoveling/snowblowing, etc).

Rachel Feeney is a natural with animals--and most knowledgeable as well. It brought me great relief when I discovered that in addition to working at a pet hospital assisting veterinarians, she is a pet caregiver. When I saw her business card--Rest Assured Pet Sitting," and read her by-line "don't fret about your pet," I realized I had found a solution to our dilemma. Our strictly indoor cat who is a senior and requires medication 2X daily would not take too well to being boarded when we are out of town. As pet owners know, especially those who are owned by a regal cat, being cared for at home with a caring and competent caregiver is the ideal situation. Without hesitation I would recommend Rachel Feeney. She continually proves herself to be a caring person and competent pet sitter as well as experienced vet technician. With Rachel, you may rest assured. Your beloved pet(s) is in good hands!!

Rachel did a great job taking care of my dog Sasha on an overnight visit. She asks all of the right questions so she knows exactly what to do and since she's a vet tech, I was extra comfortable knowing that if an emergency were to occur, she would know what to do. I will definitely use her services again!

Rachel has done an excellent job with our 3 pups. They love having her around and she is so patient with all of them. We have a cuddler, a defender and a bouncy one and she takes great care of all of them. She has experience working in a vet and has been great with giving their medicine and making sure they are happy.

Information Rachel S. would like to know about your pet

I'd just like to know if your dog has any allergies, chronic conditions, or anxieties. I've been around dogs of all sizes and many different breeds. I've always had a soft spot for larger dogs but have had my 2 chihuahuas for 10 years. They managed to make a permanent spot in my heart.

A typical day

I love taking dogs on walks whether it's around the neighborhood or to a close Park by your home. I played softball for 12 years so if your dog loves Frisbee or fetch them we can play for hours. I'm used to my own dogs sleeping in the bed with me so I do the mind a companion cuddling up with me during the night.
