Reliable, Responsible, and Caring

Pet care experience

My name is Rachel and I live in a pet friendly apartment complex in the Old Fourth Ward Neighborhood, directly on the Eastside Beltline Trail! I am excited to both boarding, house sitting, dog walking, and check-in services for pets of all species and ages in the Atlanta area. I am a veteran Rover Sitter and have been a provider with Rover since 2016, originally from NY. Pros: Honest, punctual, kind, and provides daily updates so you know your baby is well taken care of! Extra cuddles, pups allowed on furniture, and never crated unless requested by their pawrents! Experienced with obedience training and flexible to fit your needs and special requests for all pets! Exceptional pet photography skills, perfect for the gram (@atlfostermom) or to frame at home! Cons: Your baby will not want to leave Auntie Rachel's house and will be begging to come back!!! My philosophy has always been that our pets are very much our children and family members, and I treat every client's pup with the same love and attention that I would if they were my own. I am able to provide potty breaks for pups around 6 hours at a time as I am out and about during the day. If your pup has separation anxiety please note I am unable to provide full 24/7 at home supervision as I am only one person. I have over 20 years experience (8 years of Rover professional sitting) in caregiving for old including dogs, cats, and all sorts of exotics. My self education on animal behavior and training, as well as my hands-on training as a shelter volunteer add to my experience! I am also comfortable with caring for puppies (fully vaccinated age), elderly, sick, and special needs animals as well as administering daily medication/supplements. Important Details/Requirements to note prior to requesting care: Boarding: - Pets must be at least 6 months of age for boarding - All pups are required to be fully vaccinated and up to date (rabies, bortadella, parvo, distemper) no less than 1 week prior to booking start date and have corresponding documentation provided prior to booking - I am not home for up to 6 hours at a time and will be your pet's sole caretaker, so please keep this in mind if your pup has separation anxiety, requires someone who is home 24/7, or has very specifically timed medical needs to be comfortable. Unfortunately I would not be able to provide that level of care with my current schedule as Rover is a part time job for me. House Sitting: - I provide house sitting for clients whose pets are most comfy in their own home. In addition to their care, I am happy to do routine house things like picking up your mail and watering plants. I do require all house sitting bookings to provide a bed (either guest bed or I am comfortable sleeping in yours) and that all shared space such as the kitchen and bathroom are cleaned prior to my arrival. I will always leave your home in the same condition it is as I arrived! I am always tidy and quiet and respectful of your home and you wouldn't even know I was there other than your pets being so comfy when you arrive home! Check ins/Dog walks: - Only provided on weekdays, Monday through Fridays with 2 arrival window options: AM 7AM to 11AM or Mid-Day 11AM to 3PM based on availability for 30 mins, 60 mins, or at an hourly rate for fully supervised in your home care. I occasionally am able to provide a more precise time for arrival if it is requested prior to booking we can chat! Please be sure to request the correct booking and do not request "house sitting" or "boarding" if you are needing an hourly fully supervised visit in home and your pricing will be adjusted by me according to your needs.

Rachel is a great find! She recently took care of our home and senior greyhound when we were away. She is a great communicator and so mindful of all the things home- and pet-owners might worry about. We knew our pup was in good hands. Would definitely book again!

Very professional, personal, and great attention to detail. I received several updates and felt like my dog was her priority while in her care.

I only walk dogs on leash and never introduce to any outside pets/animals during their stay. If they are crate trained I have my own for them to use which fits up to 40 lb pups. If house sitting I keep their routine as typical as requested!

Information Rachel R. would like to know about your pet

If you are interested in any of my services, please send me a message about your furry friend! I would love to know about their daily routine and of course their personality, the more detailed the better! Please include any triggers, quirks or reactivity to any and all people, dogs, etc and details of what that entails. Boarding inquiries- please confirm that your pup is fully vaccinated and current with full rounds with documentation no less than 1 week prior to booking start date (bortadella, rabies, parvo, and distemper). Please keep in mind I am not home for up to 6 hours at a stretch on all days of the week including weekends due to my current job and so your pet must be comfy with that. If you have read this far, please include "woof woof" in your message for $5 off your first booking!

A typical day

I love to keep your dog's routine as similar as they are used to when they are home. I am quite flexible, and am very happy to walk the beltline with an athletic dog, or hang out at home with a more mellow or senior dog who just wants to snooze by my side. Rover is a side job and occasionally I will be called into work on both weekdays and weekends with little notice and varying hours to be at work up to 6 hours. If your pet has separation anxiety, needs frequent potty breaks, or has time sensitive special needs please keep this in mind before inquiring of my services.
