Pets are part of the family
Pet care experience
About me: Since before I could even walk, I have never been without a dog by my side. To me, they are part of the family. I know it can be hard to leave your pet behind while you travel so I always make sure to send plenty of photos and videos throughout your pet’s stay. You can be rest assured knowing they are having a great time. I can do nail clipping and baths per request. I am also familiar with administering medication - both oral and injection. I have been dog sitting through Rover for about 6 years now with many happy repeat clients. I look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)! About my place: At my home, pets are allowed on all furniture unless the owner requests otherwise. I don’t want to break any learned behaviors, so if you have any specific rules for your pet, please let me know ahead of time! The back yard is fully fenced with a 6 ft privacy fence. I am in an end-unit townhome so the yard is larger than most. Enough room for dogs to run around and get energy out. The townhome is 3 stories so if your pet struggles with stairs, this may not be the best fit. I have a 4 gallon water feeder for all pets to access at all times. Unfortunately I cannot accommodate pets who free feed as my 3 dogs will eat every last bit. I have a medium, large, and XL dog kennel for dogs that need it. I am currently doing Rover full time while I am between jobs and my wife is home most of the week as well so there will usually be at least one of us home. If we are both away for some reason, I have a home security camera to check in on the pets in case of emergency. About my pets: I have 3 dogs of my own. 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks to keep any energetic players entertained. And 1 dachshund mix if your pet prefers a buddy to nap on the couch with. 😊 One of my dogs is not friendly with cats so I cannot board any cats at this time. If the weather is nice, we try to get to the dog park a few times a week and would be more than happy to bring your dog along if you would like.

Great People!

Our dogs had a wonderful time staying with Miss Rachel! She communicates fast and thoroughly. She sent us updates, pics, and videos during their visit. We will book her for all our care needs and highly recommend her to everyone!

Gus truly enjoys his ‘vacations’ with Rachel and Andy. Truly wonderful, dog-loving team!

Another great stay with Rachel and Andy!

Safety, trust & environment
For the safety of your pets and mine, feeding time is always done in separate rooms to avoid any conflict as some dogs may be food aggressive. I also keep a close eye on all pets when playing with toys or just outside so that I can promptly respond to any signs of problems between dogs.

Information Rachel P. would like to know about your pet
If your pet has any special needs or behaviors I should be aware of, please let me know ahead of time (medications, food aggression, anxiety, etc.). If there are any rules at your home that you would like me to integrate into their time here, please don’t be shy to tell me. Please also provide their feeding schedule.
A typical day
First thing in the morning we take a trip out to the backyard for potty time and playing. When we come back in, morning food (if applicable) is given. Around noon we take another trip outside. If your dog eats lunch, this is when I feed them. Dogs are taken out again around 4 pm. Dinner is typically around 6-7 pm and we go outside or go on a walk after. Another potty break right before bed as well. However this is not a strict schedule, anytime a dog indicates they need to go outside I take them out. And if the weather is nice we leave the back door propped open for them to come and go as they please!

Availability
Rover is currently my full time job and my wife is home 5/7 days per week consistently. One or both of us will usually be home to provide round-the-clock care for your pet. They will follow the same schedule as our pups for feeding unless otherwise noted. And with our fenced backyard there’s no limit to outdoor time besides the weather. We try to make it to the dog park a few times per week and would love to bring your pet too if you are okay with it!
