Experienced Animal Lover!
Pet care experience
I’m an experienced Rover sitter who was recently hired as a part-time teacher. Caring for living things - from plants, to small animals, to large dogs - is something that makes me happy and I want to do more of it. I am always wanting to walk, cuddle, bathe, brush, read to, watch TV with, play fetch with, help train, and clean up after your pet. In addition to being on rover for almost two years, have been pet-sitting since I was very young and have experience with many breeds/ages of dogs and other companion animals. Whatever you need, I look forward to keeping your pet happy while they miss you.
Reviews
Rachel was great with our pets and provided regular updates! She’s easy to get a hold of and great to work with. We will be using her again!
Rachel has been fantastic for our dog and two cats, over and over, and I always feel secure knowing that she genuinely cares for them and loves their company. She also keeps in touch about the house and yard, informing us of anything out of the ordinary. She’s been flexible with her schedule more than once and has shifted things around to ensure that our critters are safe and their needs are met.
Rachel took great care of our dogs and house for a weekend. One of our dogs got sick while we were gone and she made sure to take care of him, even making him special meals to settle his tummy and cleaning up after him. Your help and care was so appreciated.
Rachel took the time to really get to know our three animals (two cats, one dog), and she provided fabulous, caring company while we were away. She communicated clearly about her timing and shared lots of photos and video, which put my mind at ease on the other side of the country.

I spend as much time as my day allows with your pet, even if that means taking them with me on a car ride. I am extremely respectful of other people’s homes and work hard not o overstep any boundaries. House-sitting is a minimum of 3 check-ins a day/I “live at” your home outside of teaching, overnight stays, making sure all animals have food and water, a meet and greet beforehand, playtime and cuddle time.

Information Rachel P. would like to know about your pet
Before pet sitting I really want to know any rituals they expect. (Ex. Going outside at specific times, leash procedure, feeding times, rewards for certain behaviors, etc). Most companion animals are creatures of habit and I don’t want to cause them any confusion or frustration. Do they like other animals? How long can they be left in the house by themselves? And are they house trained/how much time do they spend outside? Any medical concerns? I am flexible with all species and breeds and just want to know what you and your pet expect from me up front.
A typical day
If your dog loves other dogs I’m happy to take them to the dog park for some time in the sun. Walks around the neighborhood are good for both me and your dog, and I can bring home-made treats if you’re okay with it!

Availability
I am a part-time band director in Arlington, but I can always work with your schedule. I am available and experienced in morning and evening drop-ins to keep your pet’s needs met while you are gone and would be happy to “live at” your house full-time outside of work. If this will work for you and your pet shoot me a message to book a free meet and greet beforehand!
