Wanna go for a walk?!

Pet care experience

I’ve been a veterinary nurse for the last 10 years. My skills can come in handy if your pet needs medications, is on insulin, needs fluid therapy or just needs a nail trim! I am currently the proud mom of 4 cats, 3 ratties and 2 senior rescue dogs. I’ve been a Rover sitter since 2019, with many repeat clients and plenty of fantastic experiences! I joined rover initially as a hobby and to offer more opportunities for pets to stay in the comfort of a home environment while their owners were away. While kennel boarding may be appropriate for some, I found it to be very stressful for most pets. I do my best to keep all the pets well stimulated.. We walk every evening and have puzzle toys and foraging mats for treats and meals … I’m a big believer in the old saying “a tired dog, is a good dog”. When we are lounging at home, we have a dog door that leads into a fenced in backyard and a swimming pool for your pup to cool off 😅. Your dog will always be supervised while outside. We are an animal friendly house, and have plenty of beds for the dogs, hides for the cats, and all the furniture is ususlly occupied by the pets too 😂. Being a veterinary nurse, health is also important.. all of my pets are current on prevention for fleas, ticks, heartworm and intestinal parasites. They are also all current on their rabies and distemper vaccines… and I hope the same respect from you.. and I may ask for verification. My dogs are well socialized and I always provide slow, proper introductions to set everyone up for success.. and my cats mostly hide from strangers 😄. I will happily send you lots of photos and video of your pup! And plenty of updates. I am always available by phone, for you to check in on your pet. It is equally important to me that you can trust that your pet is in good hands so you can have a relaxing time away from home. Feel free to reach out to me to discuss care and availability or to set up a meet and greet! 🙂

We’re so grateful to have found Rachel! Our dog is nervous around new people and she was very patient with him. She even came to meet him before our scheduled appointment. Her communication was great before and during the session. Would recommend her for sure!

Information Rachel O. would like to know about your pet

Please communicate any behavior issues you have witnessed with your pet in the past. I have lots of experience working with “misunderstood” pets. I may be able to accommodate your pets needs… while keeping my pets safe. I’d love to hear any details on your pets favorite things? Toys? Treats? Activities? How’s your dog on a leash? Any major illnesses or injuries in his/her past? Sensitive/sore spots?

A typical day

My schedule varies from week to week. I am currently attending an online school to continue my education in veterinary medicine. I maintain a few shifts throughout the week at a veterinary practice. I try to adjust my schedule when I have a pet staying with me. On occasion your pet will need to be alone for a maximum of 4-6 hours. If this were to be the case during your pets stay we can discuss what would be the best way to be sure that your pet is comfortable.
