Pet care experience
I have been an animal person my whole life. I love all animals and I cannot imagine a life without pets! Pet sitting is my passion and full time job. I have been providing boarding, in-home care, walks, and grooming since 2016. I have cared for dogs, cats, exotics, farm, and wild animals. I have experience working in a veterinary clinic and in grooming. I am very comfortable working with special needs/senior animals and those who need a variety of medications. I am also comfortable pilling cats. No feeding routine is too much, wet food, dry, or homemade, I am happy to oblige. I love playing with and caring for all of my clients' furbabies! I accept dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages. I do NOT board cats in my home but I DO offer drop ins to check on your cat(s) in their home. Rover prevents me from removing cat boarding from my profile. I require meet and greets for all new clients. Meet and greets are a great opportunity for you to get to know me, my pets, and vice versa. Any pet(s) who board in my home must also meet my dogs before booking. Meet and greets are important for everyone's safety, human and pet! Info for prospective borders- My home offers many soft surfaces for your furbaby to sleep on, two humans for constant love and affection, and two cuddly dogs to keep them company. They won't have to worry about being alone as I am home full time! Amenities for boarders include a high fenced in backyard, a covered patio for bird/squirrel watching, a doggy pool (seasonally), and plenty of indoor and outdoor toys and beds. Our home is equipped with all the basics your dog will need during their stay including food/water bowls, beds/blankets, and treats. However, I do request you provide your own food. That way your pet can maintain their regular diet. In order to provide a safe environment all borders are required to be vaccinated and on preventatives. Boarders must also be microchipped OR have a form of identification on during the whole stay. Entrance/exit of the house requires opening two separate doors (back door and garage door) which helps ensure safety by preventing any escape attempts. Our house is completely smoke and vape free. Sitter drop off/pick up: $20 This applies to clients in South Huntsville only. Sitter will not pick up outside of the South Huntsville area Baths: $20 Nail clipping $5 Dog(s) must be comfortable with baths and/or nail clipping. Grooming must be booked at least two days in advance. Facebook: Purple Pet Care
Reviews
Rachel was great with Abby! She sent updates through out the stay along with cute pictures. I would highly recommend Rachel to care for your fur baby!
Rachel was great and communicated a lot, which we loved. She was great at easing our fears over leaving Baron, and he was well taken care of and will definitely be staying again.
Rachel is awesome and I will definitely hire her again to walk my pups the next time I'm out of town! She made instant friends with my dogs (and cat) and asked all the right questions at our meet-and-greet. I received pup photos after their walks, which put my mind at ease because it's so easy to worry about how your animal family is doing while you're away. 5 paws! Thanks, Rachel!
Rachel was very responsive, super organized and provided great updates and photos during our trip. Shadow had a blast staying with her and was well-taken care of!

Information Rachel N. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know how your pet feels about other dogs and if they have any special needs/care instructions. What is their feeding schedule/diet? Do they have any allergies, medications, or chronic medical conditions? I also ask that you inform me of any behavioral problems/behavioral triggers your pet may have. This is to ensure that my home is as safe as possible for your pet! E.g. Chewing particular materials, biting, trying to escape, excessive barking, getting into trash cans, indoor urination/marking, food aggression, toy/possessive aggression, etc. Other information I would love to have: -What does your pet love? Hate? -Do they have favorite activities, toys, or treats? -Are there things/sounds that are triggering for your pet? How do they handle storms? Sounds from the arsenal? -What do you do with your pet when you are away from the home? Are they crated? -What is your preferred method of communication? How often would you like me to check in with you? -What vet do you use? Is that information up to date in your pet's Rover profile? -Are they up to date on shots and/or preventatives?
A typical day
I love going on walks and will make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and sniffing time. I will let them sniff each and every blade of grass! Amenities for boarders include a high fenced in backyard, a covered patio for bird/squirrel watching, a doggy pool (seasonally), and plenty of indoor and outdoor toys, beds, and couches.
