Hi! My name is Rachel, and I live in the East End of Pittsburgh. I am originally from Erie, PA, but I moved to Pittsburgh to attend the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. I was previously the Therapeutic Services Assistant at Animal Friends. Recently I started a new position in the Development department at the Pittsburgh Zoo! I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Even before getting my first dog, Maggie, an English Springer Spaniel, when I was nine years old, I always wanted to play with friends' and neighbors' dogs. I volunteered at the Humane Society in Erie for many years, which is where my family rescued our German Shepherd Husky mix, Sheba. I have pet sit for my family and neighbors ever since I was young. I have walked big, strong dogs, and I have handled timid dogs. I know how to properly administer eye drops and injection medicine. I typically work 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
