Pet care experience
I'm a lifelong pet owner and animal lover who really enjoys caring for cats and dogs. I've been exposed to all types of dog breeds, ages, and sizes, from pugs to pit bulls! I also have extensive experience administering medication to both canines and felines. I'm very active and will make sure your pooch gets plenty of long walks. I live just two blocks from Prospect Park, very convenient to take furry friends for a good walk or run! I have a sweet, playful cat named Bogart. He has spent time with dogs before, and is comfortable with different breeds and sizes. He is 3 years old and is a little shy at first, but comfortable around dogs once he has a chance to get to know them. About this sitter: I'm a working professional and keep regular business hours, but only live about 40 minutes away from the office. I had a Golden Retriever for many years and plan to have a dog or dog(s) again someday. For right now, it's me and Bogart the cat! About my apartment- it's a lovely studio in a 4th Floor walk-up. Although it's small, I have high ceilings and big windows, so it gets plenty of light. I have installed shelves to maximize the space, and so that Bogey has plenty of places to climb in the apartment. I am also available for in-home cat care. Your feline will be in great hands while you're away! Please note: the traveling sitting profile rate is for in home visits and not overnight stays. Thank you! Rachel did a great job sitting our pup Rowdy. He's usually nervous staying with new people but settled in fairly quickly with her. Rachel sent frequent pictures and updates so we knew he was in good hands!
Rachel was fantastic at taking care of our shiba inu for over a week! Our dog has some characteristic idiosyncrasies that are typical for a shiba and Rachel was really able to accommodate these. She sent several photos and updates on how our dog was doing and really went the extra mile with walking and even jogging him! I would recommend Rachel without hesitation!
Rachel is great. When I travel, I have complete peace of mind because of her.

A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks Around the lovely neighborhood of South Park Slope, and in Prospect Park, of course! Your dog's sleeping arrangement In the living area on the floor. I would prefer to have the dog's own bed for the time they stay with me, but a bed can be provided if necessary. Time I'll spend with your dog As much as possible! At least two walks per day on weekdays, and at least three on weekends. Time I'll spend with your dog At least three walks with playtime afterwards...the minimum amount of time would be 1-2 hours on a workday. On a weekend day, I would aim to spend 2-3 hours for good quality time! Extra house-sitting services Yes of course! I am also very good at caring for plants :)
