A Tired Dog Is A Happy Dog

Pet care experience

I have a 5 year old female American Pitbull Terrier named Kiowa and a 3 year old Male American Pitbull Terrier named Tupac. They are both social and love to play with other dogs. Kiowa is shy and Tupac is very outgoing. I also have experience with special needs dogs. My first dog was deaf and dealt with severe seperation anxiety all throughout her life. All my dogs have experienced various medical issues over the years and that gives me the confidence to give your dogs the medications that they may need. I love and treat my dogs as members of the family and you have my word that I will treat your dog the same way I treat my own.

Rachel did a great job with Walter. Nice to come home to a clean house and happy pup! Would recommend and will use her again.

Rachel walks my 2 dogs on a regular basis. I took temporary custody of my daughters 3 cats, plus mine. 4 cat boxes. Ugh!! I had a trip I couldn’t cancel so I asked her to come over and clean up. Ugh duty. But she came over everyday. I do so appreciate her for taking on the task. All good when I got home.

Rachel is very friendly and worked with us to understand each of our dogs' personalities. We look forward to many walks ahead!

We love Rachel! This is her second time watching our dog and I don’t worry about him at all while he’s in her care.

Safety, trust & environment

Dogs need daily exercise to be happy because that is how their brains are hard wired. When they don't get their daily exercise that pent up energy can start to show up in negative behaviors such as aggression, soiling in the house, separation anxiety and even depression. That is why it is so extremely important to give your dog the excercise they need.

Information Rachel K. would like to know about your pet

Things I would like to know about your dog: *Tempermant/personality? *Are they dog friendly? *Are they child friendly *Are they new person friendly? *How are they on a leash? *Any triggers on walks? *Do you take them to the dog park? *Are they trained? If not how well do they listen? *High energy or low energy? *Are they up to date on vaccinations and flea treatments? I love and can handle dogs of all breeds, but I have the most experience with American Pitbull Terriers. I know how to deal with dogs of all temperments and I can cater to their needs. My first dog Kamya was deaf and dealt with anxiety throughout her life. She had certain triggers and dealt with severe seperation anxiety. I have also watched a dog who was prone to seizures. He had a seizure one night and all I could do was hold him, sheild him from more stimulation and waited for it to pass. The seizure stopped, the dog went to sleep and he was just fine after a few hours.

A typical day

I am a dog mom myself so I understand that like most humans, our pets have an established routine and daily needs. My dogs get up at a certain time, eat at a specific time and go to bed around the same time every night. They even poop on schedule so I understand the need to have someone care for your pets the way you do.

Dog walking is my full time job because it allows me the opportunity to have hands on experience with dogs of all types and breeds. My goal for the future is to become a Certified Dog Trainer. I have a Bachelor's degree in human psychology, but after graduating I realized that dog psychology is way more straightforward and a lot more fun! Dogs just like people need structure and routine in their lives. The more psychology balanced a dog is the happier they will be.
