WFH Animal Lover with Fenced Yard!
Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Rachel and I love animals of all breeds and sizes. I have 2 dogs of my own, a 2yr old Shepard Mix and a 8yr old Yorkie mix, as well as 3 cats. I’m the go to pet sitter for friends, family, and co-workers. When I was growing up, my family had 4 large dogs and a couple cats as well. I love taking our dogs over to the park or the fenced in school yard across the street and throwing the ball for them. If your dogs are up for hikes I can take them on my weekend day trips into the mountains. My goal is for you to feel like you do not have to worry while I am watching, walking, or hanging with your furry friends!

This was our second time booking Rachel and we will continue to ask her to watch our pup. She’s amazing! She went out of her way to make our pup comfortable while we were gone, and she sent lots of photos to remind us that our dog was happy and doing well. She made sure that our dog got her medication each morning without any issues, and she kept her well exercised and entertained. Rachel is trustworthy, professional, and excellent with Luna. I communicate twice a day with a short update and lots of photos! I think photos are a must to know your pet is having a good time and being taken care of. I also offer video calls in the evening if you’re wanting a mid-visit check in! If anything concerning comes up, I communicate that immediately. I would love to do a meet and greet as well before your pup is in my care in order to make sure you feel comfortable and it's the right fit.

If your dog has any special needs or medications please let me know. I have experience in administering all types of medications. I also have owned elderly dogs and currently own a dog with a disability. The only thing we really need to know about is any excessive barking or destructive behaviours to watch out for.
A typical day
I love to go hiking on the weekends and if your dog is up for it, I can bring them along. There is a trail about 0.3 miles from my front door and I normally take my dogs for walks on the trail in the evenings, or go over to the fenced in school yard across the street and play ball. There will be 5+ potty breaks a day. If your dog is high energy I am happy to take them to run and play fetch multiple times a day, my younger pup loves to get out of the house whenever he can.

Availability
I work from home full-time, Monday through Friday. For Housesitting bookings during the week I will need to be home for either half the day (4 hours) or I can bring my pup along with me to your home and be there all day long. On the weekends I normally run errands, however I am only gone for 1-3 hours at the most. If I have something planned where I will be out longer than 4 hours, I will let you know in advance. I go on daily walks as well as a trip to a park at least once a day so the dogs get enough activity.
