Pet care experience
I grew up on a small hobby farm where I cared for everything from chickens to cows. My mom bred Labradors where I took care of many dogs from day to day. I've participated in everything from show to agility to obedience. I've had experience with all sizes of dogs, from a pug, to a spaniel, to a boxer, to a great dane. I worked at a dog kennel in between college years where I cared for all kinds of dogs who had all kinds of needs. I have a lot of experience with puppies, having helped with whole litters as well as raising my own dogs. I currently have a very happy go lucky energetic golden retriever who keeps me moving!

If I need a pet sitter, Rachel is my go-to! She clearly loves the critters in her care. For the active dogs, there are plenty of walks and play time, and for the senior and not so active, she's careful not to over-do, while making sure they get lots of attention. Of course they all get lots of snuggles too. She's experienced in caring for dogs with special needs - including diets and medications. Her own dog is well mannered and loves to make new friends. When I can't take my furry buddies with me, I can feel good knowing they're in good hands with Rachel.
Rachel has a great dog sense, patient, observant and leader of the pack! she has been great with our dogs, they love her and can't wait for her visits! She can easily handle more than one dog at a time and keeps them all in line when out for walks. She also is great at teaching a dog tricks. I highly recommend her!
Rachel did a great job dog sitting my senior lab! My dog had had knee surgery a few weeks earlier and needed extra care, timed walks, and her own space. Rachel was very responsive and sent pictures of my pup the whole time so I could be sure she was doing well. I’d definitely have her watch my dog again!

I will do multiple walks a day. Depending on the dogs' behavior/needs, I'd love to take them to the park or on long walks. I can brush if necessary but I do not groom. I can pill a dog if needed and their behavior permits. I have experience walking large dogs and pullers. Leashes will be on at all times when exiting the home.

A typical day
I have my own dog so they will definitely have fun with him. We will walk and explore my neighborhood or local park. We'll play in the yard and inside with toys and puzzles.

Availability
I currently work as a substitute teacher so I keep school hours. I will be able to take your dog out before work and on a longer trek after 3:30-4pm. I take my dog on long walks at least twice a day and to the park when able. I groom my dog myself so I am used to having to brush an energetic furbaby consistently. On the weekends or sunny days I like to head to our local hiking areas or the beach for a fun outing.
