Pet care experience

My name is Rachel. I am a 26 year old nursing student looking to help people out when caring for their dogs ! I am also at friendly, and willing to care for other pets you may have. I have owned 3 big dogs in my household (Rottweiler, pit bull, and weimereiner) I have also cared for smaller dogs as well. I talk to my pets as if they're my family, and I will treat yours the same ! My availability is all day/night on Mondays, after 1 in Tuesday's, after 4 on wed/thurs, and after 12 on Fridays! I can do short term or long term visits, either planned or last minute. I look forward to hearing from you and all of your pets!

Rachel stayed with my dog Waldo and cat Kato for the first time for over a 4 day stint. The animals took to her right away and she seemed happy to be there. That was very important to me as I try to make the house sitter comfortable during the stay I want someone that truly wants to be there. Rachel did not disappoint. She was attentive and dealt with the idiocracies of an 11 year old punk of a dog, medicines and all. Not to mention that it was a relief to have someone who could sound the alarm if any house incidents occured with the crazy weather situations we have had. I would definitely have her stay here if available during my next trip.

Rachel is an amazing dog owner, and also shows the same love to every dog like it was her own. She has taken care of my pup on countless occasions and is fantastic with him. It certainly takes a weight off my shoulders knowing how much love and care she shows towards them. I highly recommend her!

Rachel would be a perfect fit for this job! She absolutely loves dogs! Whenever she comes to my house she is nicer to my dog then she is to me!

In late 2010 my boyfriend and I we're living in our first apartment when Rachel moved in with us. I was at work when I missed a couple of phone calls from her, when I finally called her back she said she would talk to me when I got home. I was surprised initially because Rachel was supposed to be at work but there was an even bigger surprise waiting for me at home. When I walked in the door I could hear an animal kind of whimpering, I had a cat but this wasn't a cat crying. As I came up the stairs I was greeted by Rachel with a small dog curled up in her lap. When she was about to leave for work she came across a dog outside, he was going up to different doors crying to be let in. After knocking on some doors Rachel came to find out that the dog's owner had moved out earlier in the week and had decided to just abandon the poor thing in the parking lot. She then decided to call out of work to look after him until I came home to talk about the situation. After some convincing Rachel was able to get my boyfriend and I to agree that the dog could stay until we found him a home. Rachel investigated all the proper avenues and the previous owners wanted nothing to do with him, they wouldn't even tell us his name because "it didn't matter anymore". Rachel and I chose to call him Dexter. She took him to the vet and paid for everything that hey needed even though money was tight while she tried to find him a home. My boyfriend and I were hesitant to keep him ourselves because he didn't get along with our cat and was so afraid to trust humans after having been abandoned. She would not allow him to be put in a shelter and she put 110% of her effort into working with and training Dexter so that he would be a proper fit for us when she moved out and into her college dorm. Unfortunately Dexter has since passed away but he was an amazing dog and I fully believe it was fate that brought him to Rachel that day. Not just any person would take a dog off the streets and devote the time, money, love and energy into it as Rachel did. Even though Dexter is no longer with us Rachel now looks after our other animals when we go out of town. I couldn't imagine trusting anyone else to care for my pets.
