Pet care experience
I am a Certified Veterinary Technician, graduate class of 2016 from Parkland College. I am a full time CVT at the University of Illinois I have experience working in both the ICU and small animal surgery. In the past I have also worked in general practice at local clinics. In my spare time, my husband and I run an orphaned kitten rescue. We have 1 dog and 2 cats of our own. I am comfortable with giving medications, caring for special needs pups, and understand the importance of dietary requirements/restrictions. Because of my work background, I know how to handle an emergent situation but more importantly how to prevent them.

Rachel is the perfect candidate to be a dog sitter. She cares for animals far more than anyone I know. She is a veterinarian technician, and in her spare time she fosters kittens just out of the goodness of her heart. I have been in a car with her before when she saw a dog loose on the side of the road and she pulled over, got the dog into her car, and drove it to the owners house all so the dog was safe.

A typical day
Getting the most out of our time together is the important thing to me. I love to spend time outdoors on walks within your homes neighborhood so your pet feels comfortable within their surroundings. I do my research ahead of time to plan the best walking routes. If you have a particular place your pet loves to go or places to avoid please let me know. We spend time together playing in the home too to ensure they release any built up energy from their walk.

I currently work full time in Champaign. I also have a family to care for, so evenings and weekends are best for me. My schedule is usually very flexible.
