My name is Rachel, and I am a graduate student and part-time petsitter and dog walker! As an insured and bonded petsitter with over 6 years of professional experience, I am excited to provide pet care services through Rover, including HOUSESITTING, WALKING, and DROP-IN VISITS. I operate my business under the philosophy of 1) treating each and every pet I encounter with the love, dedication, and care of my own pets, and 2) ensuring that each pet parent feels adequately cared for just as well as their pets, by overcommunicating and going above and beyond. How do you rate someone that's an absolute perfect caretaker! No need to look any further, Rachel is the one you want to hire. Our pup's are definitely a lot to handle with medication and strange feeding habits but, Rachel went farther then scope to make sure she did everything as we had asked and more. Our pup's upon our return, acted like "Oh, your home", which is a great, because that means that Rachel showed them as much love and care as we do everyday. Rachel was the ultimate sitter for our girl, Rose. She welcomed her into her family’s home with open arms and loved on her as if she were her own. As an Insured and Bonded petsitter, I can assure that your pet’s safety and well-being is my number one priority. For all services, I keep all pets on-leash when on walks and do not permit any off-leash activity such as going to dog parks. I do not permit any interactions between other dogs while your pet(s) are in my care. This is for your dog’s safety as much as for mine as a dog sitter. For services at your home, I take extra special care to retain the safety of your home and pets, including triple checking that all doors are locked/secure and that nothing potentially hazardous is left out for your pet. My business model is based off of a policy of clear communication and transparency, so you can expect to receive detailed report cards and photos from me to ensure the quality of the care I am providing to your pet.

For all services: Please let me know ahead of time about any dietary restrictions or limitations so I can ensure your pet’s safety. For all overnight services (e.g. housesitting): I require a meet and greet to get to know more about your dog’s personality and temperament. (Due to COVID, owners have the option for a virtual Meet and Greet if preferred.) Meet and greets are a great way for your dog to become familiarized with my scent, as well as I their personality! I would be happy to provide care for dogs sizes small to large. For other services (e.g. walks and drop-ins): Meet and Greet not required but preferred and highly recommended. I need to know about your dog’s baseline personality and temperament, and whether she is friendly with strangers in your home.
A typical day
I treat every dog and cat as my own, with adoring love and dedicated care. In your home: Along with all basic care needs (e.g. potty breaks and mealtime), I want to do my very best to make sure your pet is comfortable, loved, and trusts me as much as possible. With my 5+ years of professional experience and a lifetime of being around dogs, I am very well-versed in dog behavior and will be proficient at reading your dog’s body language to understand her needs and boundaries of consent for petting, playtime, food, etc. I would love to reinforce basic obedience training with your dog while I am there! Other fun activities will include LOTS of dedicated play time and cuddle time. With other pets (e.g. cats), I also have years of experience with cats to respect their boundaries and provide the best, most loving care possible. I will take care to respect your home as well.

Availability
For all services: I work full-time at another job during the week, so my availability for petsitting is weeknights and weekends. For November and during the Thanksgiving-Christmas holidays, I have increased availability for petsitting that fills up quickly due to high demand—please reach out as soon as possible for holiday pet care and I will do my very best to accommodate any petsitting needs. For daytime services (walks and drop-ins): please contact me for my day to day availability and I’d love to work your pet into my schedule for petsitting! For overnight care (housesitting): My availability for overnights fills up quickly and is first come first served. I provide guaranteed overnight care each night from 9pm-7am; during the day, I may occasionally need to leave for short durations to complete other drop-in visits and walks or for family commitments, and may need to leave your pup safely alone in the house. Your dog must be crate-trained or able to be kept in a safe room alone while alone. I am willing to work out a schedule for care with you that best fits with your pet’s care needs in my petsitting schedule. Although Rover’s housesitting service is on a 24-hour basis, my housesitting rate includes guaranteed overnight care at your home from 9pm-7am.
