Hi, my name is Rachel and I am a 3rd year medical student. I took a break from doing Rover during the demanding 1st 2 years of medical school between '21-'22 but I am now back offering services with a more relaxed schedule, now that I am on my clinical rotations. Depending on my schedule/clinical rotation, I have much more free time, which gives me ample time to supervise and take care of your pup all day! My fiancè is a freelance accountant/business owner (also a HUGE animal lover of course), who also works from home all day every day so if I ever have to run out to do an errand, someone is always guaranteed to be at our house to ensure 24/7 supervision of your pet. I also provide dog services through the WAG! app, which I am more established on, please feel free to read some of the reviews I have received from previous customers in the photos section of my profile. I absolutely adore all dogs and have grown up with dogs my entire life. I have also been a volunteer at various humane shelters, where I have been able to walk and care for all different types and sizes of dogs, so I am very comfortable with all dogs. I have 10+ years of experience with dog sitting, dog boarding, and dog walking. I look forward to taking very good care of your pup and treating them as if they were my own!

Rachel is precious in every way, personality plus, very confident and assured me my girl would be well taken care of....and was! She took Winnie & Sassi on a neighborhood walk, sent pictures throughout the day. The girls played in the fenced-in yard area. Sassi is beyond worn out from a fun day with Rachel. She has such a kind, caring and loving heart.

Thanks to my years of experience working with dogs, whether at the animal shelters or boarding/caring for them myself, I feel as though I have a wide array of knowledge with various types of breeds, temperaments, shapes, & sizes. One of my favorite hobbies is reading, which often entails a lot of books about dogs. I find it fascinating to learn about the psychology of dogs, one of my favorite books ever, Decoding Your Dog, was all about the pscyhology of dogs and decoding their common behaviors. I feel it helped me gain a better understanding of how dogs signal to us what they need through their behavior but also how their body language can give us insight into how they are feeling, their comfort level, happiness, their feeling of security, etc.

Dogs are so special to me and give us nothing but unconditional love in return, which is exactly why I love all dog breeds, shapes, and sizes! We are so lucky to have them in our lives, there is truly nothing better.
A typical day
I love to play fetch with the dogs I am boarding in my backyard and take them for walks around my neighborhood or in the nearby parks. I am very active so I love to exercise with the dogs as well, it is a great bonding experience!

Availability
I make taking care of my dog & other dogs that I care for a top priority in my life, as they mean so much to me. This entails at least 2 long (>1mile) walks per day, one in the morning, and one in the evening as well as ample amount of playtime in the backyard thoroughout the day. Luckily since I study from home all day everyday, I am able to take the pups out for some playtime & a potty break multiple times a day, which also serves as a nice study break for me.
