Cool Pet Aunt for Walks and Cuddles

Pet care experience

PLEASE READ BEFORE REQUESTING A BOOKING. I’m such an animal lover I even brought my cat back from the Peace Corps with me. I’ve cared for all types of pets since I was a kid, from dogs, to cats, to bearded dragons and chickens. I’ve been a pet sitter for family and friends since I was 12 and had my first dog. My favorite parts of hanging with pets are long walks, tugs of war, brush sessions and lap cuddles. I’ve watched dogs with hearing issues, senior dogs, and small puppies. My cat has renal dysplasia, so I am also trained in subcutaneous fluid injections. I work from home full-time with a very flexible schedule and most weekends free. I’m able to pop away for potty breaks easily and can spend a couple of days away to watch your furbabies. I will not be able to do more than 1 week of overnights, and will need to leave every so often to check on my own animal if housesitting. At this time, I only feel comfortable taking care at 3 animals per household at most. House sitting is a premium service so it will cost more. I am there for your fur friend to play, cuddle, feed and keep them comfortable until you return. Totally comfortable with overnight stays to keep an eye on them or snuggle them to sleep :). Housesitting also includes small household tasks like watering plants, filling bird feeders, taking in mail, and putting out trash cans. Firm believer in leaving the place better than before you left it! Drop-ins means a short walk, feeding, and some hang out time for 30 mins to an hour depending on your pet’s needs. I am not able to have pets in my home at the moment because of apartment pet policies. My philosophy is to treat your pets the way they need to be treated. I will follow all your rules and trust that you know your pet best. You will get plenty of photos from our time together and updates after each visit.

Rachel was terrific! Our dog Dash took to her immediately. She was very affectionate with him and sent lots of photos of them playing and walking. The house was immaculate when we returned. We liked her as well and found her very dependable and responsible. We highly recommend her and will certainly use her again.

Rachel was amazing. She built confidence that she would take care of the special needs of our husky, which as some know have particular breed character and needs. She loved on our fur baby and built a strong relationship with her and with us dog parents! We received lots of photos and updates throughout Rachel’s service. She is also a very thoughtful house sitter! Thank you!

Information Rachel C. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has special behavioral or medical needs. I am not a behavioral specialist nor do I have a veterinary certification, so aggressive or special needs pets atm. I also need to know your pet’s vaccination status, anxiety levels and dietary needs. A meet and greet is required before I can watch any animals, and then I ask for 24 hours to decide whether we are a good fit.

A typical day

I love playing active games like tug of war, fetch, and some zooming in the backyard if available. But my lap is also perfect for cuddles and TV time. Trail walks should be mellow and allow for lots of sniffing and exploring, and if your buddy is a little less active we can always lay down for a rest.
