Responsible and fun care!
Pet care experience
Good communication is a top priority for me - so your dog will likely gain some new training skills while with me. I have lots of experience taking care of animals over night, checking on them throughout the day, and giving them the walk/play time they deserve. I'll personalize your pup's activities so that they can have an experience that fits them. If you have a very active dog, I'll take them on a hike, play fetch at the park, set up a play date, or even take them mountain biking or running. If your dog tires out easier, we'll go for a nice walk. So, if you have a mellow or senior pup, no problem. I am happy to accommodate them. I am medically trained as a Wilderness First Responder and have learned dog CPR. I am happy to discuss any medications or special needs. If you live here in the area and need somebody to watch after your pets while you're away for awhile, I do in-house care. This meaning that I can come stay at your home where your pets are most comfortable, keep them company, and watch after their needs. As a bonus, I'm there to watch over your house and bring your mail in. My prices are high because I often plan my other work around your dog's care needs, I generally do one dog (or household) at a time making sure your pet is highly prioritized. Knowing that your dog is being well taken care of, loved, and is in good hands is priceless.
Reviews
Rachel recently dog sat our two 11-month-old golden retrievers while we were out on a day trip during our visit to Telluride. She made herself available after our last minute request (literally the night before) and we came home to two well-exercised, happy pups. From all the pictures Rachel shared from their excursions around town (including on the gondola), it looked like they had a great time. Maggie and Ginny are best friends and can get a bit wild together, so Rachel being able to handle them together is no small feat. We’d highly recommend her!
Rachel is wonderful. She stayed in touch to let me know she was caring for our dog and made logistics easy. I hope she's available the next time I need a sitter!
Rachel was wonderful with our dog Teddy! She did dog and house sitting for us for several days and we could not have been more pleased. She is responsible, flexible, and her communication before and while we were away was excellent. Thank you Rachel and we look forward to having you back soon!
Rachel was great. She took care of our dogs just like they were family. She sent photos to us while we were out and was super responsive to any needs we had. Thanks again Rachel!

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is a first priority for any care regarding your fur babies! I like to keep a good watchful on on them until I get to know them well, then I start to allow them more safe autonomy.

Information Rachel B. would like to know about your pet
I like to know four major things: 1. How they are off leash 2. How they are with other dogs and people 3. Do they have any allergies or triggers 4. What are their main commands that they understand
A typical day
I like to take high energy dogs romping in the snow, out to play fetch, or for a long walk/run/hike and "ski" on the runs off of chair 10. Sometimes I will set up doggy play dates for very social dogs. Mellower dogs will enjoy a nice walk around town and maybe a game of fetch if they're into it.
