Animal-educated and experienced!

Pet care experience

Hello! I'm located in Glendale. While other walkers and sitters may be able to garauntee your dog will have fun with them, can they garauntee your furry pals safety? In my eyes, safety is just as important, and after years of only 5-star service, I can soundly promise that your pooch will have a fun AND safe time when with me! My friends and clients call me the animal whisperer--I've yet to meet an animal that, even if it takes some time, I didn’t end up having a connection with. I'll always work to gain their trust and love—I don’t mind being patient! I also strongly believe in full transparency, and so I will do my best to update you with accurate, honest information as I spend time with your pup. I'll give your dog the best treatment I can because they are more than "just a pet", they're family, and should be treated as such! •Breakdown of Services... I come equip with a large walker belt, back-up harnesses/collars and leashes, poop bags, light-up collar clips for safety on nighttime walks, pepperspray & an airhorn to protect against coyotes/cougars, water and a water bowl, paw wax to protect against hot pavement, and more. I am very communicative, detailed, and I love to take pictures. Expect frequent heavily detailed updates as often as you would like, lots of cute pictures and videos, and expert attention to detail! •Walks… You’ll receive a map with our walk route, report on your pet’s business, a detailed summary of our time together and lots of cute pictures! I will let you know when I’m on my way, and when I have left. *currently not available for reoccurring bookings •Drop-ins… You’ll receive a report of our time together complete with plenty of pictures of your pet! I will let you know when I’m on my way, and when I have left. *currently not available for reoccurring bookings •House-sits… This service includes feedings, playtime, walks, cuddles, sleeping in the home with your pet and medications (if needed. Extra charge may apply for extra work, ie sub q fluids, etc)! You’ll receive detailed maps of our walk routes, updates throughout the day to maintain your peace of mind, and plenty of cute pictures. I have quite the soft spot for senior pups and dogs who may take a bit more patience and time to work with. If your dog has some behaviors and your worried you won’t find a walker/sitter comfortable with working with those behaviors, worry no more! I’ve always been drawn to the “more difficult” pets, and most of my own pets have required extensive patience and understanding since nearly all of them were previously abused rescues. Whether your dog is a barker, a jumper, bipolar, very fearful, or whatever they may be dealing with, please reach out. These animals deserve a walker who is willing to take the time to understand them and make them comfortable. It is always my pleasure to do just that. If you’re seeking a walker who will continue you’re training while on a walk so you don’t lose any progress, I’m you’re girl! Consistency is so important. •My background... I’m third generation animal rescue—my aunt worked with wildlife, my grandma with farm animals, and my mom worked with domestic animals like dogs, cats, birds and rabbits. I've worked with animals as a volunteer at a shelters and rehabs, as well as in my own home. I have experience with dogs/puppies of all sizes and temperaments, cats/kittens both docile and feral, birds such as cockatoos and parakeets, a variety of reptiles, small animals like rabbits/Guinea pigs/mice, and more. So whatever pet you have—unless it’s a centipede—I’m happy to care for! I have experience with and know how to deal with many health issues in dogs and sudden medical emergencies such as bite wounds, needing to make a dog vomit, etc. I am also comfortable with dogs who have diabetes, need regular fluids, medications, or have special care instructions that you need to know will be done accurately.

Rachael did an amazing job with our big baby. He is typically shy, but warmed up to her in no time. Rachael gave us plenty of updates and was great about adjusting to our dog’s specific needs and schedule. We are so glad that George made a new friend today and will book Rachael again in a heartbeat.

Rachael is the best! She has a natural understanding of dogs, and makes us feel totally comfortable going away for the weekend. One of our dogs is a rescue from the shelter with a bit of anxiety he still deals with, and Rachael knew just how to take care of him! Great house guest too.

Can’t say enough good things about Rachael! She was communicative, caring, and thorough while taking care of our Golden pup. We got tons of photo updates and always felt like we knew how things were going. Rachael went above and beyond in her care for Daisy, making sure she was comfortable and at ease and even doing some training with her. Highly recommended!

Rachael is the absolute best sitter we ever could have hoped for. Our kitty Bagel loves attention and hates being left alone for long periods. As attached as she is to us, we’re even more attached to her and also hate leaving her. After working from home and not leaving our house for over a year, we were nervous to travel again. But with Rachael staying at our house, we had absolutely no worries. Rachael and Bagel immediately bonded at the pre-visit. Rachael asked all the right questions and was so kind and affectionate toward Bagel that I knew right away she and our home would be in good hands. Then during her stay Rachael sent me regular incredibly detailed updates multiple times a day, describing how Bagel was eating, what games they were playing, how many treats she got, whether she was noisy or happy or sleepy, all with lots of pictures. Rachael always let us know when she was going out and coming back, reassuring us that doors were locked and our home and pet were safe. That level of security and peace of mind is priceless. I am so happy we found Rachael, and Bagel can’t wait for her next stay!

•Put your paws in safe hands… I am very alert, safe, and proactive. In all my years I have never lost a pet, had a pet have an injury, or any sort of bad experience that comes with a lot of inexperienced people in this field. I double check all doors after leaving to ensure they are properly locked and shut. Happy to set any alarms, cameras, and other needs you may have. My full reports give you peace of mind and allow you to see what your dog has been up to, their eating and potty habits, and more. During walks I do not greet people or other dogs for safety reasons unless specifically requested by the owner to do otherwise. I do not bring guests to walks or house sits unless approved by the client.

Information Rachael R. would like to know about your pet

Before I work with your pet, please be as honest and accurate with the information you provide me about your pet. The more I know, the better I can be with your pet and their specific needs, and the safer I can keep them. I have no breed or age preferences--all are welcome! Please tell me... Basic Information (Age, Breed, Size, etc) Health Information (dietary restrictions, allergies, meds, etc) Triggers/Behaviors (not good with kids, scared of bikes, not good with women, etc) And anything else you find important! The more information, the better! I ask that you DO NOT sugar coat anything. I’m comfortable with almost anything - but I can not give proper care that keeps your pet or myself safe if I don’t have full and accurate info. Thanks!

A typical day

I LOVE spending time with animals (more than people!) so I am eager and willing to do whatever your dog would like! If they feel playful, we can play with balls, toys, or go on walks/runs or to the park. If they simply want to cuddle, a snuggle-sesh is always welcome! Your dog will have my undivided attention when we are together. **I do not take dogs to places where they will be off-leash, such as dog parks, for their own safety**

•My schedule… I run my own pet business full-time! I love my work. During the day I have regular clients for my business. My house sitting clients must be able to be left alone for 5 hours at a time, max, so I can tend to the regulars—but this will not hinder the level of care I provide to your pet! If your pet needs more time than I normally provide, we can discuss an additional charge.
