Hi! My name is Rachael -- I'm a freelance musician/teacher living in downtown Morganton with my husband, two rescue dogs and two rescue cats. I've been passionately involved in dog rescue (Great Pyrenees + large breeds, specifically) for the last 5 years, and love ALL animals. As a freelancer, I make my own schedule and work from home during the day -- this means your pups will be under my watchful eye at all times -- no alone time or idle paws here! As a pet parent, I completely understand the struggle to find safe, trustworthy care for your babes, whether it be short term (daily dog walking, pet sitting, etc.) or long term (a weekend getaway, vacation, etc.). Because of this, I am committed to providing safe, quality pet care for your loves and strive to be the kind of pet-sitter I would want to have for my own pets. I'm experienced with senior dogs, dogs with disabilities, and would be happy to administer medications, etc. as needed. UPDATE: Because we live in an apartment with two dogs of our own, and because we are committed to safe, quality pet care, I am only able to provide drop-in home visits at this time. For dogs, this means: your dogs will be included in my daily routine with my pups (dog park, walks, etc.), I'll look in on them/play with them/take them for walks or dog park play 3-4x a day and love on them like they're my own. For cats, this means: your cats will be fed, played with, and looked in on 2-3x each day and love on them like they're my own. If you have any questions, please ask! I understand how difficult it can be to leave your babes for any period of time, and I strive to be the pet-sitter I would expect for my own pups/cats.
