1000+ walks done! 7am-8pm everyday

Pet care experience

Hi! I'm available everyday for your dogs and cats! I take clients from 7am-8pm and am based in Mar Vista. I take bookings and on-demand walks all week! I've worked with dogs of all different sizes and ages for about 5 years professionally and have completed over 800 walks in that time. I like to challenge high-energy dogs with exercise and also have a lot of experience with rescues, seniors, and dogs with special needs including high-anxiety pups. I like to bring water, toy balls, and pet owner approved treats on the walk to help with hydration and any distractions that may come up. I also carry a Pet First Aid kit with me at all times and am happy to accommodate special feeding/exercise requests!

We scheduled overnight house sitting for our two dogs with Rachael for this past week. In advance she came to the house and met us and them, we showed her around, and then she agreed to accept the booking. We chose Rachael because she had so many good reviews, but trusting someone to stay in your home with your dogs is very hard. We left for New York at 7:00 a.m. and although we knew Rachael might not be around until about 7:00 p.m. we decided to make it work. She knew we were leaving that time. Confirmed the day before again. And we gave her the code for our lockbox where we left keys for her. Around 9:00 p.m. Pacific, or 12:00 a.m. New York time, It started to concern us that we didn't see her enter the home through our ring cameras. I texted her and my text was declined. I tried calling and she said she had just finished moving and was on her way. This was at 9:00 p.m. 20 minutes later we received a text saying she was in a car accident and her car was towed to San Bernardino so she wouldn't have a car all week and would not make the sitting appointment. Mind you this was 12:30 a.m. where I was and she was telling me she was no longer showing up for the 5-day appointment altogether. None of this sounded real. How could someone have told her car within the 20 to 30 minutes by now since she had told me she was on her way. It just doesn't work that way. Not to mention if she doesn't have a car sounds like house sitting is perfect because she can just stay in one place for 5 days and get paid. I'm a very understanding person. But her canceling at 12:30 a.m. where I was after my dogs had been alone for 15 hours was so absolutely irresponsible. All of her reviews said she was such a dog lover. I cannot understand how a dog lover would back out of such an arrangement under those conditions. Especially after we had made the exception for her to come around 7 after such a long day of leaving them alone. She was virtually unapologetic. I responded but didn't even really know what to say. By this time I had already sent my brother by to check on them who I would have had watched them if he was just available. But he was not. We had to scramble to cover and find someone to watch them in the middle of the night. I believe Rachael overbooked herself with her move and simply couldn't handle it all. But she left me and my dog's exposed to a very terrible situation.

Rachael was fantastic. You can tell she is an animal lover right away. My dogs were so comfortable with her and they came back very tired and happy! She went out of her way to meet me in a convenient spot and dropped the pups back at my house late at night. She sent tons of photos and videos and map locations of her walks, which I loved. Overall, the best rover you could ask for.

A typical day

I like to start walks with some practice of good leash etiquette and then a few blocks of jogging, basing the pace upon the dog's needs. I bring toy balls of different sizes to distract the pups and water to keep them comfortable. Any grassy area nearby can become a quick play area for us to practice fetch! I also like to include a little more running towards the end, if they are a high-energy/anxious dog.
