Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm relatively new to the Bay Area from DC and unfortunately can't have dogs due to my two grumpy cats. Therefore, I need to get my fill of long walks and puppy playtime elsewhere :) I grew up with dogs and have always been the go-to person to care for friends' and coworkers' pets while they've been out of town. Growing up, I had a dog for 10 years who was from an abusive background, so I have experience working with difficult, skittish and anxious pups. Throughout college, I fostered neo-natal kittens, volunteered at an animal rescue and a spay and neuter clinic. Through this, I have experience administering medication, including shots, pills and sub-q fluids. I work 10-5 at a tech company downtown (like everyone in SF, hah!), but have some flexibility with work should I need to work remotely for a few days or pop out in the middle of the day for a walk. I'm always available before or after work and on weekends. Ultimately, I'm on Rover simply because I love animals. Caring for dogs and cats brings me a lot of joy and the icing on the cake is that every single owner I've met has been pretty amazing, too.

Rachael was everything I was looking for in a sitter: communicative, dependable, and most importantly, extremely loving with Monty and Loki. They took to her immediately during the meet-n-greet, and from videos and photos she sent, the love was overflowing during her visits.
I could not ask for a better sitter or human to take care of my little anxious baby! My 10-year old dog is 1/2 border collie and 1/2 pit bull and has separation anxiety issues, and a TON of energy, despite going to Ft. Funston every day. Rachael was fantastic with her and understood her "special needs" and kept me updated every single day with multiple texts and photos on how Audrey was doing. She was also just a wonderful, warm person and so respectful of my loft. She even left a sweet "Welcome home" note on my chalkboard for me!! It's all these little thoughtful touches and empathy that make Rachael special. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her again and again for any dog.

I'm an active person and love going for long walks in green spaces and exploring more of the city. However, how I spend time with your pup is ultimately up to them. I take my cues from them (and you!) and tailor our time to be as low-stress and rewarding for them as possible.
