Full time student part time dog nut

Pet care experience

My life has been dedicated to my dogs and dog sports since I was in elementary school. I've also done pet sitting, dog training, and dog walking for the past four years. Between these activities I have gathered a wealth of real world experiences that I am always drawing on when taking care of someone else's pet. Because I am a dog owner myself I understand how I would want my animals to be treated if I went away, and I can draw on that understanding to really go above and beyond in my pet care. Animal management is one of my best skills that allows me to introduce new animals to my home while making sure everyone's needs are met and stress levels are kept low. After training and trialing in multiple different dogs sports I have a firm grasp on how to deal with difficult, stressed, or high energy dogs. I often find myself using the same tricks I would use at a show while caring for someone else's dog.

Very happy with our dog's care. He seemed to become part of her family (which made us all feel better about leaving him). I highly recommend Rachael C.

Rachel was so professional in taking care of Parker. He is not easy as he suffers from anxiety and can act aggressively. Rachel set up a program that allowed her to care for Parker without him becoming aggresive. Rachel's thoughtfulness about how to care for Parker allowed her to help us out at a time when we had a huge medical emergency. I cannot thank her enough for all of her help!! I will definitely ask Rachel again!! Thank you Rachel!

Rachael is wonderful! My oldest is blind and can have challenges with fear aggression at times, which makes it worrisome leaving him with people he doesn't know and he cannot be boarded at a kennel. I could tell he immediately felt comfortable with Rachael from the first meeting and he seemed to really take to her calm and friendly energy, I could not have asked for a better fit. Our youngest really, really liked her too! Both boys had a pleasant time at her home, they seemed very at ease and calm when we picked them up and I could also tell by the pictures Rachael shared while we were away. We will definitely be using her services again in the future!

Information Rachael C. would like to know about your pet

Mainly exercise preferences and if they have any issues with small animals, cats, and other dogs. I have no problem accommodating each animal but I'd rather not be taken by surprise. I won't discriminate against any breeds but I am a glutton for high energy herding types like Border Collies, Belgian Sheepdogs, Kelpies, and the like.

A typical day

I live on a rural road with access to a splendid two mile walk that takes you through preserved wooded areas. There are also hiking trails in my backyard that are dog friendly and scarcely used by anyone that doesn't live in the neighborhood. In the backyard I have a 5' fenced in area to play fetch or frisbee, other dogs to wrestle with, and agility equipment for the more high energy patrons.
