Pet care experience
20 years ago I was a dog walker in New York and could frequently be found with a gaggle of dogs in any one of the dog parks in Manhattan. These days, I walk several of my friends' dogs, all ranging in size and age. Personally, I was fortunate to be a companion for a wonderful Aussie Shepherd/Border Collie mix who was agility trained and incredibly smart. We lived a wonderfully active life together and I miss walking her regularly. There is definitely room in my life for many more doggie kisses and companionship. I have experience with elderly and sick dogs and have mastered giving medications and shots where needed. Chica, my collie mix, needed a lot of care towards the end of her life and I trained to give her shots, so that I could do it whenever she needed. I also love the energy of young pups, and believe I have mastered the stern tone needed when training.

Rachael helped me take care of my pup a couple years ago before he passed away. Ben was a very large, stubborn dog and Rachael was one of the few people I ever trusted to take him for a walk. She cared for my dog like he was her own, and I still thank her for all of her help. I would highly recommend Rachael for any type of dog.
I know this is a dog sitting site but I'm more of a cat person so that's what you're going to get here. Rachael recently cared for my cat Stella while I was away for 2.5 weeks. Stella is bossy, fussy and prone to complaining (weird for a cat, I know). Most folks inspire Stella to cower under the bed however, when Stella sees Rachael, she approaches and gives a hearty shout that is equal parts "oh hi there" and "now do something!' Rachael always responds with a chuckle and a patient greeting. Aside from taking care of the easy cat stuff like food and litter box, Rachael has an ability to get pills into Stella on a daily basis and has even clipped her claws for me on occasion. After my most recent trip, the lackadaisical not-needy welcome home that I received from Miss Stella confirmed that she had been ridiculously well-loved and cared for while I was away-- and this made my heart happy. If you have kitties or a mixed pet household, Rachael is your gal!
My dog, Cholula, goes running over to Rachael every time she comes over and prefers her company to any other person's in the room. Rachael speaks fluent dog, and is an incredibly caring and conscientious person who I am lucky to trust with my dog.

A typical day
I love to take dogs to parks where they can run around. Especially 1000 acres. Of course it all depends on the pup's recall abilities and each case is different. I also love urban hiking, walking around neighborhoods and discovering new areas.
