Pet care experience
My professional life for the past 6+ years has been focused on animal behavior and husbandry. I worked as a pet store supervisor, an Animal Help Desk representative at Nevada Humane Society, the Trap-Neuter-Return/Community Cats Coordinator for feral cats in Washoe County, and as a veterinary assistant. (Note: any and all opinions or actions are my own and bare no reflection on the shelter or hospital.) I love animals of all breeds and sizes, particularly exotics, and am very passionate about their quality of life and general well-being. I have a careful eye for pets' body language, and aspire to never make an animal uncomfortable if I can help it. I'm well acquainted with pet nutrition and general behavior, and am more than willing to both keep an animal's separation from their owner as comfortable as possible as well as assist in furthering the health and well being of any animals within my care. I can follow feeding guidelines, provide enriching playtime, and help reinforce positive behaviors in pets as needed. I'm also willing to help maintain the home of the client I'm assisting (i.e. light housekeeping, cleaning up after the pet). I'm more than willing to seek and/or provide accommodations for clients and pets with disabilities or health issues. Services for small animals/exotics and multiday/long term sitting or check-ins may be negotiable. Grooming may include bathing, brushing, nail trimming, wing clipping, etc. My current work hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. To offset gas use (especially right now), I do prefer multi-day house sitting that is ideally closer to NW Reno/Verdi.
Reviews
Consistently coming home to happy kitties. Grateful for Pryce as my go to cat sitter. Always able to travel with peace of mind.
Came home to extremely happy and well taken care of kitties yet again!
I’m new to Reno and Pryce was not only kind enough to do a thorough and chatty (on my part) first meet to see the kitties, but also just finished watching them for the Labor Day weekend. Pryce has been so helpful with vet recommendations and knowledgeable about my beloved cats behaviors and all around took really wonderful care of them. Any time I was feeling anxious about what the kitties were up to, I could message and Pryce quickly reassured me with pics and commentary. Thank you again!
Pryce is so patient and caring with our stubborn pup. Pryce is amazing

I treat all animals like they're my own, and my own are deeply spoiled and well-cared for animals of all breeds and species. I seek to be always respectful of your home, and I make it a point to be very up front about any potential issues or concerns. I know that it's a big ask to trust someone alone in your home, so I understand wanting to be reassured every step of the way that things are going fine.
Information Pryce S. would like to know about your pet
For any animal, I want to know their dietary needs (food, treats, allergies or sensitivities), where it's best to walk them, if there's anything that makes them particularly nervous (or happy!), where cleaning and grooming supplies are, and where waste is to be disposed of. I don't do overly well with extremely large breeds unless they're gentle giants, in so much as I am not very large myself, but I am willing to meet any dog to see if it will be a good match. While I'm certainly happy to assist dogs with behavior considerations, if I have too many on my plate at once I might decline simply to not overextend myself. I probably wouldn't agree to sit for large parrots. While I've helped with their medical handling, I'm actually very audio sensitive and not fully confident with my reading of large birds.
A typical day
Depending on the location of the client, I'll take the dog(s) on walks/excursions to pre-approved locations (for example, if there are places the animal prefers, or avoiding places that the owner does not). I know enrichment needs for bored and frustrated shelter pets, so I definitely carry those over to our furry kids left alone at home while we're away!

My entire life is pet care. I wake up, take care of our small zoo, go to work, and come home to do our evening chores and start it all again. I like the change in scenery and being the one to bring your pet some peace of mind, and I'm not limited by the care of my own pets because it's a household endeavor.
