I love dogs and dogs love me! :)
Pet care experience
I have been caring for pets (mostly dogs but also cats, birds, turtles and fish) for over 20 years. My own sweet pup, Peaseblossom, passed away last year and I’m currently living with dear friends who are a married couple with a sweet, funny, playful dog named Rory who LOVES to make dog friends.
Reviews
Porter is wonderful! Warm, caring, communicative and responsive. We were sooooo happy (and completely at ease!) leaving our pup with her.
Porter was very responsive and accommodating watching Oreo.
We have had our mini poodle Layla stay with Porter on a few different occasions now, and she always has a wonderful time! Porter is great with communication and sending us pics of Layla, and Layla always comes home happy, clean, and better behaved than before she left. :) We will continue to use Porter and highly recommend her to all.
My dog is pretty transparent. He will pull the leash if he wants to avoid a place/person etc. my dog practically runs to see Porter. He gets better treatment with her than at home. There’s no better anxiety reliever as it’s hard to leave him home when I travel!

I have lots of flexibility in my schedule, so I try to stick to your dog's usual schedule as much as possible so as to not disrupt his or her life any more than being apart from you already does! I also send daily photos of your pups so you can see that they are happy and healthy. :)

Information Porter K. would like to know about your pet
I like to get an "ideal schedule" from you so that I can try to keep your pup's routine as much as possible...this includes meals, walks, treats, medication,...the more information you give, the more I can keep your dog's routine. I also suggest you leave something of yours in the dog’s bed…a dirty sock or t-shirt,…sounds weird, but your scent calms your dog when you are away
A typical day
Every morning my housemate’s dog waits patiently at my door when she hears me stirring. I let her in and she jumps onto my bed, runs out, jumps back on the bed,…such a joyful way to start the day! I have breakfast, do work on the computer, then head to my nanny job (2 human children, one pup) in Culver City, typically 3:15-6:15pm M-F. My roommates work from home and take the dogs for walks while I’m gone. On Saturdays I volunteer with an organization called WriteGirl via Zoom on Saturday mornings, sometimes with a dog in my lap. Sometimes I babysit on Saturday nights but my housemates are usually home. I typically do laundry, organize, etc on Sundays and my housemate and I take the dogs to the dog park (although lately we have not been doing that due to Atypical Canine Respiratory Disease

Availability
My housemates and I would be taking care of your dog together. They are a married couple and both work from home, and I only work outside of the home for a few hours a day on weekdays (afterschool nanny), so in all likelihood your dog will never be left alone. We do not board dogs from different families at the same time, so the only other dog your dog your dog(s) would encounter is Rory. Your dog(s) can sleep in my bed if they are used to that, or you can bring their crate or bed. We also have dog beds but I highly recommend bringing your dog’s regular bed to make them feel more secure and at home We look forward to meeting you and your dog(s)!
