Dogs are the best
Pet care experience
It all started in the south west of France where (at about 6 years of age for me and 2 for my first sister) we homed a puppy (weimaraner) we were to look after for someone else for just over a month. About two years on I joined my local horse riding club. I quickly got comfortable with those big mammals, and there were always the few dogs owned by the manager and some of the affiliated families roaming around free. Many years on whilst we were studying with Solent on a placement year in Spain (06-07), my friend, classmate and housemate got a puppy I participated in raising and training. Luna reminded me how I had always loved and appreciated animals in life, and revived in me the will to have a dog of my own. Looking after and interacting every day with her for the best part of a year made me realise about my interests in training and behavioral psychology also. Three years on I got an opportunity to have my own at a time when I knew I would have time to attend to a pupy's needs. That was in 2010 and it is the best thing in my life so far, after having been brought up in a nice area with my siblings. I am rather family orientated , so my pet was early in time introduced to kids and has always been socialised with dogs of all ages and breeds.
Reviews
Pierre-Julien is a wonderful person to have met through Rover.com. From our encounters with Pierre-Julien, he is more like a “dog whisperer”. I was initially drawn to him based on both his profile as well as previous reviews, and in particular the recent review from Roger H and his comment about Pierre-Julien’s “experience with stronger breeds”. This was very helpful for us in finding the right person for two of our four rescue dogs. During the pre-visit to our home and to meet our two male boxers Albert 11 1/2 years old and Negan just under two years old, Pierre-Julien demonstrated his true passion for dogs, and in particular, his extensive experience when handling our large, very strong and exuberant younger dog Negan. His extensive knowledge of dog behaviours is an added string to his bow and important for us as all our dogs have varying degrees of behavioural issues and behaviour no rescue dogs. We felt totally comfortable and at ease going away and, although this was just for two days/one night, we we would most definitely request Pierre-Julien to dog sit for our dogs again in the future. Thank you Pierre-Julien and we look forward to seeing you again soon ?
PJ always puts the dogs needs first and takes such care and interest in their wellbeing. He has great experience with dogs of all types and sizes but it was his experience with stronger breeds that drew us to him. He looked after Jess, our 16 month old black GSD who we got from a rescue just 3 months ago. Jess is working line GSD with a high drive and needs plenty of engagement and exercise. She is also a reactive dog, although her reactiveness is not extreme, individual reactions can be extreme and she can be a real handful. It was reassuring to know that she was in such great hands with PJ, it meant we could really relax whilst we were away.
PJ was brilliant. Knowledgeable and reliable and kept us updated often. We have a difficult puppy and he handled her beautifully, we were very hesitant but it went very well. We will definitely be using him again and whole heartedly recommend PJ
Just so easy to leave our lot with PJ, you know they are in excellent hands and lots of happy animals when you get back. Especially our Shepherd who has clearly been well entertained!

Your lovely companion may benefit from company of other dogs whilst on walks, may play with other dog/s when feeling up to it. Depending on its age ,his and your preferences, your dog may also enjoy a slow pace jog from time to time or when instructed (I would be on the bicycle). Your faithful friend can enjoy running for tennis balls or 'chuck it' rubber balls launched by ball thrower, run and try to figure out what goes on with the 'Eratic ball' (by 'chuck it' brand), and we also have the option of the freezebe ('Kong Flyer'). He shall also enjoy a little dip here and there unless instructed otherwise ! ) Places we will/can visit may include (but are not limited to): The Common Park, The Saint Denys area and by the water in St Denys, The Riverside park, The Sport Center, the woods, and The Royal Victoria Country Park.
