Day or Overnight, Care Done Right

Pet care experience

I’ve been in the pet care business for seven years (full-time for the last six years) and have loved every minute! To ensure that my clients feel as legally and mentally sound as possible, I am covered by pet care insurance.*This is on top of the fantastic Rover guarantee* Being a full-time college student, my schedule is flexible, and last-minute walks or stays are not a problem. Not to mention, during summer break or holidays, I have even more availability. I am a homebody, so when pet-sitting, I mainly stay with the furbaby and give them all my attention. This allows me ample time to take dozens of pictures of them so I can send y’all the cutest update pictures that are frame or screensaver-worthy. I want to stress that the health and safety of your babies are extremely important to me. That’s why I never allow them to be off-leash unless we are in the backyard, avoid interactions with other dogs on walks (unless socialization is requested), and only go to dog parks when asked ( and the park is less than 1/3 full). *In terms of specialties, I have extensive experience taking care of larger senior dogs and what I categorize as “spicy dogs,” with a great deal of anxiety. Many of my clients have mild to severe separation anxiety, so I’ve become quite adept in caring for clinger pets. Furthermore, dietary restrictions and unique routines are not an issue, and I am happy to oblige. For clarification purposes, I want to emphasize that if I am booked for overnight housesitting, I will 100% be sleeping over throughout the entire booking. The only exception would be for continuous day/night care under the guise of housesitting. *Before confirming any bookings, I conduct a video call to discuss pet care and to see if we "vibe." Any in-person requests after that will be charged as a drop-in or a dog walk. Following our initial meet-and-greet, I will hold the requested booking slot open for 24 hours. I will release the slot to accommodate other clients if you do not confirm within this period. However, should you decide to proceed with my services outside of this window and if I remain unbooked, I will happily accept your request as well! NOTE: I do not take on dogs with a history of biting other animals or humans, as those pets are not allowed to be serviced on Rover.

Amazing as always! My dog loves her and I have a peaceful vacation knowing he is in really good hands. She is patient, neat, and left my place better than she found it.

Pierce came in clutch for us!!! We needed to extend her time watching our dog at the last minute and she was able to accommodate us and save our trip. We’re so grateful! Before she came, we spoke at length about our dog and his habits/behaviors - she was undaunted by his anxiety or reactivity and spoke with compassion and experience. While we were gone, she sent regular updates about our dog with pictures, and left our apartment clean. I will definitely reach out to Pierce again when I need a dog sitter!

Safety, trust & environment

When I step into your home, I introduce myself to your pet to ensure they feel safe around me. Due to my experience, I can read animal body language pretty well and tread carefully not to startle them. After we get to know each other, if they are up to it, I try to play with them and give them lots of cuddles. Throughout the day, I check on their water bowl and clean/refill it, as hydration is essential! I also enjoy doing some mild training with treats to reward them.

Information Pierce H. would like to know about your pet

I make a care document for each and every one of my clients, so I ask for information such as: - Your animal's schedule (feeding and walking). - How do they react to other dogs or animals? - What do they love doing? - Commands and tricks they know and/or are learning. - Their triggers (such as loud noises, children, etc). - Allergies, medication, etc. - What is their favorite way to play?

A typical day

I like to take long walks around the neighborhood and the dog parks to engage your pups (with your permission). For my elderly or spicy dogs that don’t like their kind, I lead them on a good sniffari but keep them on a shorter time frame. Regardless of the type of dog, when we are back at the house, after a nice treat and proper hydration, I enjoy working on commands with them and might even teach them a new trick. If it’s a cat, I’ll try to play with them as much as they will entertain the thought. I have experience walking cats in harnesses and going on short walks with them in a cat backpack. So, if your cat enjoys this, I would be happy to oblige! I try to ensure that by the time you are back, your furbabies are relaxed, happy, and well-tuckered out. I also always do some light cleaning to clean up after myself before leaving the premises, so there is nothing to worry about when you return.

Availability

Besides caring for your pet(s), I only leave the premises (if house-sitting) when I go to class. Additionally, I rarely book more than one booking a day to spend most of my energy on the furbabies I care for. Every day, I wake up around 7-10 am and sleep around 11 pm - 1 am, so early morning to late evening dog walks are A-OK with me. I try to follow your routine to make your furbabies as comfortable as possible.
