Hi! My name is Phillip and I love all pets big and small. I am new to Spokane and am excited to take care of pets while preparing for veterinary school. I enjoy long walks to the dog park and naps in the afternoon sun. I have two years of experience working in veterinary hospitals and boarding facilities, with responsibilities such as walking and playing with pets, comforting those with separation anxiety, feeding, administering medications, and keeping all pets safe and happy. My favorite experience from working in veterinary hospitals was assisting with the delivery and care of multiple litters of French Bulldog puppies. I loved nurturing and watching them grow up to be happy and energetic. I am also certified in pet CPR/First Aid from the American Red Cross. In my free time, I explore outdoors and my new city. Phillip is an amazing animal caregiver. He genuinely enjoys spending time with each animal and getting to know their unique personalities. I have seen him win over several different "difficult" or frightened animals with his care and tenderness. Beyond his skills with animals, he has a genuine desire to learn and be the best caregiver he can be. I know my animals are always safe and loved when they are with him.
Phillip took care of my two dogs during the day while I was out of the country for a month! When I got home they were very happy and had been well looked after. I don't normally leave other people to take care of my dogs because they can be naughty if the person is not experienced with large, energetic dogs but Phillip was very capable with them. He also won over my younger dog who is extremely fearful of strangers (especially men) and new situations due to being abused in his previous home, so that's a huge testimonial to how good he is with special needs dogs!
Phillip has been a phenomenal caregiver for my dog, Jonah. Over the last few years, Phillip has looked after Jonah while I was out of town. During the previous 4 months, Phillip routinely walked and fed Jonah on almost a daily basis. Jonah was always excited to see Phillip so I know they had a good relationship when I was gone. When I was around, I saw Phillip show a constant loving, understanding, and attentive nature towards Jonah. As a person, Phillip is a trust worthy and caring. I have no hesitation about letting Phillip into my home and would happily entrust him with Jonah's care in the future. If anyone is in need of someone to look after your pet, Phillip is an excellent choice.
Phillip's experience working with animals during his internship at the Colorado Springs zoo hardworking at two good size vet practices, gives him the background to be a good pet sitter. But it's his interest in the welfare of the animals and his desire to give them the best care that will make him a great pet sitter. His background is leading him toward a career in animal care.
