I have moved to a new area.

Pet care experience

ANNOUNCEMENT: I HAVE MOVED to Frederick and will be holding off on any dog sitting services for some time. I am keeping my profile open for now because I fully intend to resume sitting services once we have a fence built and I do not wish to lose my account. I have loved dog sitting in the Silver Spring area these last several years. Trust me when I say I will not soon forget your dog if you have stayed with me. I will miss your pup very, very much. To say I'm a dog person is an understatement. I have been a dog owner all my life and care for a few of my own. I spent many summers working as a dog walker - pet sitter during my time in college. I have also worked as a pet photographer! Over the years I have rescued and cared for countless canines and found them loving homes. We've been in the Maryland area for about three years now and I must say, there's so many great dogs and dog people out there. While we primarily focus on pet sitting in our home, I am also happy to drive out to take care of your pooch; including walk, water, and potty breaks. I can work on training habits for puppies and rescues, or provide restful peace and quiet, and affection for senior dogs. Our house has extra guest rooms available for dogs that need that private space. I currently work on my own schedule and set my own hours, so I always have plenty of time to play with and care for pups. I welcome dogs as part of my daily routine, since dogs help me to remember to get up from my computer and move around! Having cared for animals my entire life, I have learned a lot about being flexible and attentive to the animals in my care. I will always go outside with your dog when I take them out, especially newer stays. There is almost always someone at home, usually me or my husband, Kevin. If I'm walking your pets, or going to your home, I will only go where you show/tell me I can go and follow the routine we discuss. I will do my absolute best to communicate with you when I am coming and going, along with photos of your pet(s) in between. Most importantly, I want to hear from you about your dog's quirks and preferences, because I believe we can only do the best we can with the information we have on hand. For me, I'm an over-sharer, and transparency is important to me. Please don't hesitate to let me know any of your concerns or questions pertaining to your pet .

Peyton was super patient with our nervous dog who has some separation anxiety since the pandemic. She sent several reassuring updates and she and our dog were buddies by the end of the day. Will definitely leave our pup with her again.

My pup has stayed with Peyton multiple times and always comes back tuckered out. Peyton is caring, responsive and clearly loves animals. My pup loved having a fenced yard and opportunity to play with lots of other dogs. Highly recommend Peyton!

Safety, trust & environment

I have years of experience managing dogs and have spent and extensive amount of time studying canine behavior. I will always be honest with you about any and all interactions and behaviors. We all know how our pets can be completely different in different environments, just like people. In my home, I will always meet a new dog ahead of any stay scenario to make sure everyone is a good fit. If I am in your home, I will always communicate with you when I am arriving, going inside, and leaving. If I see packages on your doorstep, I will place them inside and let you know. And of course, you will always receive photos of what me and your pet got up to during my time there. My personal rule of thumb is that I will not go anywhere in your home you have not exclusively shown me as a point of interest (a pantry for food, etc) Your pet is my primary reason for being there and will be the only thing I really focus on.
