Dr. Pete, veterinarian dog sitter

Pet care experience

As a veterinarian, I am passionate about pooches and will be able to take great care of your dog while you are away, even if that means specialty meds or injections. Leaving your dog can be a nerve racking experience, and I will make sure you feel comfortable before you have to leave. I have my friendly, respectful, and housebroken dog Kirby (20 lbs) who does great with other small dogs under 30 lbs. He can be scared of larger dogs but we could always set up a meet and greet to test out their compatibility. Your pet will have a great and safe time while you are away. Let me know what you need and what you are looking for as I can be flexible.

Obie had a good walk with look-alike Kirby ... Peter was timely & prepared with extra poop bags which were needed! He was also flexible in case of rain.

Peter was amazing. My dog is not the easiest to take care of, and he cared for him so well. I actually think he may have come back better trained than he was when I dropped him off. Peter also sent me daily updates and pictures to let me know how my puppy was doing. My dog loved Peter's dog and was so happy that he had a friend to play with while I was gone. I also felt so comfortable knowing that Peter completed a veterinary degree and that I would be updated if any sort of injury or health issues presented. I would strongly recommend booking Peter. You won't find a better sitter!

Peter has dog-sat for my very shy dog, Luke, many times, both during the day and overnight, and is wonderful with him! Peter is a bit of a dog whisperer, and dogs tend to trust and listen to him, and most of his friends' dogs positively adore him. He's very conscientious about his own dog and any other dog in his care, and is careful to make sure that Luke gets enough exercise, food, water, and of course cuddles, attention and play. Aside from Luke, who is <20 lbs, I've also observed Peter taking care of his roommates' large dogs (>50 lbs) and a high-energy Border Collie overnight, all of whom he was great with. Finally, because he's a veterinarian, I know that Peter will make a judgement call if anything medical were to come up, which is a great safety net to have when you're leaving your pet with someone else. (In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that Peter is my significant other, but regardless of that he's an excellent dogsitter and vet, and would be a great option if you're looking for someone to care for your pet!)

Information Peter S. would like to know about your pet

What is your regular veterinarian in case of emergency? Is your dog aggressive with other small dogs?

A typical day

I want your dog to feel like his/her routine is as close to normal as possible while you are away. If that means particular walking routes or toy play time then I am willing to help make them comfortable.
