Pet care experience
My experience caring for dogs started in childhood with my family’s first dog, Chloé – a mixed breed with a personality like a Beagle. Including the normal responsibilities – feeding, bathing, grooming, walking, playing – I cared for her all the way from house-training to ensuring her graduation from Doggy Etiquette School as a pup, to administering her medicine in old age. My experience also includes caring for special needs dogs. Through a local shelter, I am approved as a Foster Parent and most recently fostered Mac, an elderly Chihuahua with severe incontinence. Given these issues, he required constant supervision as well as frequent doggy-diaper changes and regular administration of oral medicines. Mac and I had to part ways when I moved out of state, but I cherish our time together and know that it was meaningful for both of us. In addition to the care of specific dogs as an Owner and Foster Parent, I volunteer my time at the local shelter by walking dogs and spending time with them during their recess hours. I am also officially certified by the Humane Society as a Dog Socializer and I am proud to share that, through this position, I have been integral in placing multiple dogs with proper homes and compassionate owners.
Reviews
What sets Peter apart is his professionalism and genuine love for animals. He paid attention to all the details, from dietary needs to exercise preferences, ensuring that my dog felt right at home. I appreciate how flexible and accommodating he was with my schedule as well. If you're looking for a trustworthy, caring, and attentive dog sitter, look no further than Peter. I'm so grateful to have found someone I can trust wholeheartedly with my furry companion. Thank you, Peter, for providing such top-notch care!
I can't recommend Peter enough! Leaving my furry friend behind used to give me so much anxiety, but ever since I found Peter, those worries are a thing of the past. From the moment I met him, I could tell he had a special connection with dogs.
Peter fostered an older shelter dog. Shelters have a tougher time finding homes for older animals and the number of medical needs correlates to the difficulty in finding a way to get the animal out of the shelter. Peter did a wonderful job of supporting the dog's basic needs. It was also clear after only a short time that a bond had been formed between Peter and the dog. Peter cares about animals and I don't believe there is a characteristic that matters more.
